On the outskirts of Derby city centre lies an award-winning Chinese restaurant, Zing Vaa. This authentic diner is perfect for those who want to experience the variety and excitement of Derby city centre, without the hassle of finding parking or negotiating busy roads. It’s in the suburb of Littleover, just off the A5111 on Burton Road, so whether you live just down the road or are visiting and want somewhere convenient to stop, Zing Vaa is perfect for you.
The restaurant features a wonderful open dining area, which is ideally suited to a big gathering for a special celebration. However, even if you head into Zing Vaa for a quiet meal for two, you can ensure that you’ll get great service and delicious food. The unassuming exterior gives way to a cozy, softly lit interior, complete with luxurious dark wood and red accents which complement the Oriental theme. You’ll love the well-presented tabled, and might even bag one of the coveted round settings with a spinning central platform, ideal for sharing or swiping someone else’s food.
Start your meal of withy one of the well-priced soups, as it’ll whet your appetite for the main course. Don’t miss out on the rest of the starters, though, we recommend the Peking-style spare ribs and crispy seaweed as it’s a perfect blend of moist meat and light crispy vegetables. To follow, why not treat yourself to a hot fried shredded chicken in a delicate bird’s nest. If you’re after noodles, we definitely recommend the spicy Singapore style vermicelli, or go for the special chow mein. There’s lots for vegetarian dishes, too, such as spicy tofu on skewers or a yummy pineapple and cashew stir fry.
Derby isn’t short on quality restaurants, but if you want to try something new and experience a truly authentic Chinese restaurant, we highly recommend Zing Vaa.
