    Amazing service and food!

It's always the best experience at Winteringham Fields. Always something new to experience. Never disappointed!

I have been to Winteringham Fields quite a few times and I have to say it is one of my favourite restaurants and absolutely perfect for family celebrations. The food is divine and the chefs really know what they're doing. Every course is fabulous in looks, taste and smell! Will be sure to re-visit in the near future -- Paul.

Absolutely faultless from start to finish. We were greeted outside and led through to the courtyard and served aperitifs before discussing the menus in detail with the general manager who relayed every new addition to the menu flawlessly. The dining rooms is stunning and the food is just exceptional. Our waiter even laid the cheese we had afterwards out on the plate in a particular order so we could enjoy the flavours of each fully. Spectacular.

We say…

Winteringham Fields is a multi-award winning fine dining restaurant in the village of Winteringham, just North of Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire. Situated on the corner of Silver Street at Read’s Island and just opposite the Bay Horse Inn, this restaurant with rooms is at the very heart of village life.

Owned by Colin McGurran and his family, Winteringham Fields is a beautiful venue that will make any occasion special. As you venture through the cast iron gates, up the driveway and past the ancient weeping willow you will discover the beautiful old building that is now home to the restaurant and hotel. Steeped in history and beautifully preserved, it provides the perfect canvas for Winteringham Fields to blossom. There is a separate bar that features a stunning wood burning stove, the original beams and comfortable sofas and arms chairs and several lounges that all guests are permitted to use at leisure, whether it is for pre or post-meal drinks or simply to continue conversations had in the dining room to a new setting.

The dining room has a luxurious and sophisticated feel to it with rich fabrics and opulent décor. Featuring large round tables lain with freshly pressed white linen, sparkling silverware and surrounded by beautifully upholstered dining chairs, the entire experience of dining at Winteringham Fields is utterly exceptional from start to finish. The Chef’s Dining Room is ideal for large parties and special occasions as guests are able to watch the culinary alchemy unfold right in front of their eyes thanks to the open kitchen which provides close-up views straight into the heart of the restaurant. In addition to this, there is a beautifully maintained al fresco area and a cosy conservatory that are as equally as impressive as the rest of the establishment.

Whilst the building and rooms are without a doubt some of the finest you will ever see, the food still manages to take centre stage. Colin, his family and his highly dedicated team of staff pride themselves on their abundant use of local produce which includes growing and rearing much of their own fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs and meat. Their small holding is growing daily and includes everything from bees to chickens and sheep to root veg.

With such fantastic produce being used in the kitchen, it is no wonder that Winteringham Fields is world-renowned and has been awarded not only 2 AA Rosettes but also a five-star AA award too. The menus are packed full of decadent modern British dishes that will satisfy the most discerning palate. When seasonally available, you can expect to enjoy dishes such as roast breast of duck with confit leg, potato pave, duck heart and beetroot; or the steamed stone bass with mussels, braised lentils, gem and shiitake mushrooms. For those who enjoy surprises, the Menu Surprise is perfect as the kitchen team will create a bespoke menu for you and tweak each dish depending on the diners food likes and dislikes.

You can always depend on Winteringham Fields to deliver excellence. Discreet and understated service combined with locally sourced produce, a superb eye for detail and a break-taking venue ensures that this restaurant with rooms will remain at the top of every foodies hit list for years to come.
