We say…

Situated no more than ten minutes’ drive Eastward from the centre of the historic Lincoln city centre is Washinborough Hall, a beautiful and tranquil spot for diners to enjoy after a long day shopping or sight-seeing.  Hidden within the Hall is The Dining Room, a fantastically fresh restaurant with the odd twist of tradition décor.

The Hall is a true family affair with husband and wife team Edward and Lucy Herring taking a very hands on approach to their business. Every visitor is treated as a guest and the atmosphere is comfortable yet high-class. Lucy has a background in cooking and established herself as a successful Cordon Bleu chef. She works closely with the kitchen team to ensure the best food is served. Head Chef Dan Wallis designs beautiful seasonal menus that showcase the abundance of quality local produce.

On the menu you will find traditional British cuisine with a slightly modern twist. As an example, you could enjoy a starter of Five Spiced Duck Breast on an Orange, Beetroot and Fennel Salad with a Soy reduction, for mains the Pan Roasted Guinea Fowl with Local Cabbage, Sage and Smoked Bacon with a Marsala Wine Jus and finish off the meal with the Pear and Almond Crumble Tart with Clotted Cream Ice Cream. The menu changes frequently to reflect what is in season and this is part of the charm of The Dining Room.
