We say…

Utsav is a South Indian restaurant tucked away in the back streets of Radford. Situated just next to the Shipstone Street tram stop and along the road from the Nottingham Climbing Centre, Utsav would make an ideal place for a tasty meal on the way home from work, a post-climb bite to eat or a family gathering.

Serving food from the Malabar coast of Kerala dubbed 'the Land of Spices', Utsav means 'festival', and seeks to live up to its name in its celebration of South Indian cuisine.

Utsav's menu offers some typical Indian favourites, such as Chicken and Lamb Tikka, Madras or Vindaloo, but what makes this restaurant special are the specifically Keralan dishes that aren't often seen in a British curry restaurant. To start, why not try a Dosa, a paper-thin crispy pancake with various filling options such as spicy potatoes, onion and ginger, or lamb tossed in potato masala? Main course options include the mouth-watering Nadan Kozhi, the most popular chicken curry in Kerala, and the Manga Meen, a fish curry cooked with flavoursome mangoes. If you're looking for something vegetarian, go for the Vazhuthananga Theeyal, aubergines cooked in onion and tamarind, and give the Kerala Paratha bread a try as an accompaniment! Round it all of with a tempting Banana Dosa pancake, or Gulab Jamun, a tasty milk dough dumpling, deep fried and soaked in syrup.

Utsav offers curries that are a bit out of the ordinary, with delicious flavours and friendly service. Book your table today to experience it for yourself!
