We say…

Situated on the main Glossop Road, not far from Sheffield city centre and a short walk from the University of Sheffield, Thyme Café is an independent café and restaurant, serving hearty meals with a focus on flavour and value.

The restaurant is a welcoming contemporary space with a  welcoming no-fuss attitude and friendly, attentive staff. Blackboards, wooden tables and stylish decorations with a rustic flare make the restaurant the perfect place to relax with friends or enjoy an evening in the buzzing atmosphere. An attractive patio area is also available, perfect for al fresco dining and a quiet drink in the sun. The restaurant works on a no booking first-come-first-serve basis though, so be early!

The menu has been created specifically to offer value, choice, quality and flavour. Offering simple, classic dishes to an excellent standard, Thyme Café offers hearty, beautifully made, home cooked food which has made the restaurant a successful eatery for over a decade. Using seasonal ingredients from locally sourced suppliers the menu changes daily, but you can expect a stunning variety of food. Often on offer are dishes such as tiger prawn spaghetti, with chilli lemon and garlic or bruschetta of creamed mushrooms, stilton and rocket. Beautiful dishes such as seared salmon and crab risotto are also popular, as are vegetarian dishes including sweet potato and aubergine curry, fragrant rice, spring onion bahji and naan bread. For a lighter meal, choose one of Thyme’s freshly made sandwiches, all served with fries, including steak, stilton and mushroom or spiced lamb kofta and hummus. To finish off with a treat, choose from a number of homemade desserts, including classics such as sticky toffee pudding and a mixed berry pavlova, served with Chantilly cream and passion fruit sorbet. A great kids menu is also popular, offering a free meal for children under eight with every main meal ordered on Monday to Friday between 11am and 3pm, and again between 5pm and 7pm. The menu includes favourites such as mini fishcakes, Thyme café cheeseburgers and spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce.

A fantastic eatery with a great, long-standing reputation, Thyme Café, Sheffield is the perfect place to visit, guaranteeing delicious, wholesome food with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
