We say…

In the quaint village of Wortley sits The Wortley Arms Inn, a restaurant and bar with a real focus on fantastic food and locally brewed cask ales In 1753, the building was originally built as a coach house, reopening in 2006 as the restaurant here today.

Steeped in history, the building still has many original features including solid oak exposed beams and large open fires. Exposed brickwork and rustic wooden furniture compliment the historical feel of the building and make for beautiful surroundings to enjoy your drink or meal. Upstairs there are The Montagu Rooms, hireable function rooms perfect for many occasions, including private dining for up to 50 people or a buffet for larger parties of people. Hire of the entire venue is also available.

The seasonal menu has been expertly crafted by Head Chef Andy Gabbitas, including a range of perfectly cooked English dishes and Mediterranean influenced food. For starters choose from a selection of home smoked salmon, olive or pan-fried belly pork dishes, as well as many other choices including vegetarian options. The main menu has been selected for its rich use of flavours and locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Choose from old favourites such as beer battered fish and chips served with mushy peas, or gammon steak with griddled pineapple, salad and chips. Try the signature dish of the Wortley burger, served with chips, onion rings, tomato salsa and a fresh grain mayonnaise. A lunch menu is also available, offering a variety of lighter meals earlier in the day. Choose from dishes such as a mushroom tagliatelle  or a locally sourced sirloin steak, served with hand cut chips, vine tomatoes, field mushrooms and ranch salad. To finish choose from a number of classic English desserts, such as sticky toffee pudding, bakewell tart or chocolate fondant. Can’t choose? Go for the trio of classic desserts, a dish of spotted dick, apple crumble and pannetonne bread and butter pudding.

The Wortley Arms Inn, Sheffield is a beautiful venue full of history and charm. The menu is excellently put together and so is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking great food in the area of Wortley.
