    Great pub and friendly service.

We have been to the Wollaton many times and have good evenings out. This was a poor experience, the service left a lot to be desired. There was a long wait for the starters and then one was wrong. One part of a main course was missing when it was served. There was a long wait to see if we wanted a dessert. We had to go and find a member of staff to pay the bill. We will give the Wollaton a miss for a while.

Food and table service very good. At 8.30 many items on the two menus were not available. Value was ok. Confusion over the table availability so sat down 20 minutes late as a result.

The food was good but the service was slow. A side order was missed too.

There were some interseting new dishes on the new menu and still excellent value at £8. Only issue was the table was a bit cramped - a bit too small for 5 to eat comfortaably

    Great as always!

    Great food as always!

Great food as usual although didn't like sitting in the corridor!

    Beautiful food as always!

Excellent food which leaves me coming back time and time again.

The food and service was great! We had another lovely meal, thank you.

    Beautiful food as always.

Lovely meal, great food from an interesting menu, really friendly service - we are so lucky to have this venue just round the corner from home. Will definately recommend to others and certainly go again. Well done all for totally transforming a place that used to be a right dump!!

Excellent food, service was slow and table not in main restaurant.

Good food - steak night on tuesday's - Beaut!

Great food love going back time after time.

Went on a Sunday evening and had the two courses for £12.50 or 3 courses for £15.00(I couldn't manage dessert by my partner did). Food was excellent, really pleased and would definitely recommend it.

Great food although expensive for out of town. Good service.

I found the food and service excellent, we weren't cramped, nice and peaceful, we weren't rushed, the whole evening was a total success, all my friends commented on how nice the place and meal was, take my hat to all.

Good food served fresh and hot, by pleasant and efficient staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Initially service rushed. Food good but main course of swordfish not hot enough.

Great food atmosphere was warm and cosy and relaxed for a Tuesday evening.

    Great food.

Enjoyed the food as usual, the salmon arrived skin side up with hollandaise. Personal taste I always remove the skin so disappointed I had to scrape the sauce off. Starter - roast veg with goasts cheese was lovely. Other diners loved the beef & the volume of food as ever!

Food was fantastic, we both had starters & mains & shared a dessert - creme brulee was lovely! Service was a little slow however we were eating at 1pm so the pub was busy.

The Rewstaurant did not have the booking when we arrived even though it had been confirmed. There were tables available. The lighting could be better.

Service really good, they didn't actually have our booking on the system but still accommodated us. Food was excellent, very tasty and good value for money - we chose of the magnificent 7 menu and wasn't disappointed.
Only downside was the bulb was out in the ladies toilet that I went in.

Food as good as ever, although the serving staff seemed to be more inexperienced than usual with a mix up over our wine order. However this was sorted out efficiently and with humour so didn't cause a problem. Recommended.

Very enjoyable evening - food very good - not hurried over meal

    Wonderful food again and again.

We enjoyed our meal and could not fault the service. Enjoyable night.

    Great food everytime.

Great food and atmosphere - its definitely a favourite of ours.

Second visit to the Wollaton - and again it was fabulous. The fresh bread alone is to die for.
They even changed one of the dishes to accommodate our parties fussy eater - thanks chef.

The atmosphere at the Wollaton was lively/busy though not obtrusive and the food was well presented and of good quality. 'Early bird' menu represents good value. House red was a decent Chilean Merlot at a fair price. Service was friendly and attentive though not rushed. I would eat there again.

Great food locally what more could you ask for.

    Thank you

the food was good, the service was good, the beer was nice and the setting was comfortable.

Despite having booked for 2 persons, our table was not ready for 20 mins and we suggested a table in the non dining area. The service was very slow, 12 mins to take the food order and 17 mins to deliver a bowl of soup, rarebit (cheese on toast), and a piece of quiche (3 starters). They were pleasant about it and the food was tasty and value for money, but the delays were not acceptable.

We say…

The Wollaton serves quality, locally-sourced food in a relaxed and friendly environment. This London-style gastropub is located on Lambourne Drive in Wollaton, Nottingham, and stands proudly on the corner of Wollaton Road. It is perfect for those making the most of nearby Wollaton Park who are looking for a place to relax after a long walk.

Formerly the Willoughby Arms, The Wollaton has been completely refurbished in an eclectic mix of textures, fabrics and colours by the team behind The Larwood and Voce in West Bridgford, and The Lord Nelson at Burton Joyce. This establishment is vast and provides a cosy and homely haven for drinkers and diners. With a dedicated dining area and a sizeable bar and lounge area, it is a flexible venue that can cater for any size party, large or small.

The kitchen team at The Wollaton pride themselves on using local ingredients from beef to lamb and vegetables which not only guarantees freshness, quality and seasonality but also provides the optimum flavour as well as supporting local growers and breeders. Executive Chef and co-owner John Molnar is hands-on to ensure that the same high standards are enforced every single day.

The menu is packed with British classics and peppered with a few surprises for good measure. Portions are hearty and will leave you satisfied for hours afterwards. Signature dishes include the fish and chips; a fillet of beer battered haddock served with chips in dripping and marrowfat peas, Mr Woods’ wood pigeon with a roasted walnut and pear salad, and Casterbridge beef rib with all the trimmings. The Wollaton also hosts feature nights such as the incredibly popular steak night and their value for money daily deals.

The Wollaton’s commitment to satisfying hungry appetites with high quality, locally sourced and perfectly executed dishes has not gone unrecognised. At the 2008 Nottingham Restaurant Awards the team scooped three highly-reputable accolades including ‘Best Pub Food’, ‘Best Local Produce Menu’, and ‘Nottinghamshire’s Young Chef of the Year’.

Open from mid-morning to serve hearty breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals, The Wollaton pub and kitchen in Nottingham is perfect for any time of the day. We highly recommend the Sunday roast, a real favourite with visitors and locals.
