We were sat in the bar area which was quite noisy so we asked to move to a quieter table which was accommodated with no difficulty. The menu is quite basic so we both ordered fish, chip and mushy peas. The peas were served in a small pan and they were cold. The chips were ok but the fish was really greasy and had a bitter aftertaste. For £13 I would have expected the food to be hot and better quality. The service was fine, the staff very friendly but the food left a lot to be desired. Would go again for a drink but wouldn't eat there again.

It was a very nice evening anniversary meal we will definitely go again.

Welcoming staff, excellent service food choice wanting but overall quite nice!

Good enough but not brilliant.Staff were excellent

We were four ladies who lunch and it was the first visit for three of us. We had a lovely meal served by two very pleasant young ladies. The standard of food was excellent and I will certainly recommend the White Hart to friends. We will be back!

Lovely Sunday lunch at the White Hart!

    Good food and fast service!

Absolutely fantastic food and the service here is great, nothing is too much trouble and never wait for drinks or additional requests to arrive at the table.

Absolutely excellent service and food was fantastic

Restaurant was very busy due to a wedding happening however that can't be helped and the food was delicious. Lovely country pub with a modern feel.

My wife, 30 year old son and me all enjoyed a most enjoyable evening at The White Hart Inn yesterday. The service was first class, the meal excellent and the quality and value for money well beyond our expectations. As a 'first outing' it's a 'no brainer' - in the familiar words of a terminator: "we'll be back!"

Lovely food at the White Hart, couldnt fault it, but service was very slow...staff were apologetic but they were busy as there was a wedding....2 hours to serve a 2 course meal really isnt on!

We say…

The White Hart Inn hotel, restaurant and pub can be found on Moorwood Moor just outside of the scenic town of Alfreton, Derbyshire. It’s in a great location for trips up and down the M1, so getting to and from Derby and Chesterfield couldn’t be easier if you live in Derbyshire. Its fantastic transport links mean that locals and visitors alike will love the White Hart Inn.

The restaurant is set in the big, traditional stone building atop Moorwood Moor that is easy to spot from the main road. Stand outside with a beer if you fancy getting some sun. The owners pride themselves on classic British sentiment with a modern twist, as the inn has had a recent renovation to give it the comfort and warmth of a new build, but with the character of the old structure. Reclaimed brick and solid oak beams give it a sense of history, but you’ll love the on-trend wallpaper and stylish wooden seating in the bar area.

The menu at the White Hart is always being updated, as the chef loves to show off local, fresh ingredients in interesting new ways. Start your meal off the right with the creamy garlic mushrooms or the hummus and mixed olive platter to share- it is served with delicious warm pitta breads. For mains you are spoilt for choice, with a great mix of flavour combinations such as butternut squash tart served with blue cheese, roasted beetroot and sumo chips; or the white hart curry, made with seasonal vegetables and buttery mash.

The White Hart Inn at Alfreton is ideal for busy commuters, as its amazing location and tasty food will give you a taste of home without the washing up.
