Food was very nice, overall a lovely experience.

Excellent welcome, nice menu, food very tasty and plentiful. Complimentary bread and taster of soup a nice surprise.

Food was excellent just let down with the very poor service. Left waiting for drinks food and clearing of plates no excuse as the restaurant wasn't that full.

As always, pleasure to eat at The Noel. Clare is so welcoming and Marks good is delicious. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly & efficient staff & the food is excellent. Would definitely book again

Four of us; all different choices, all excellent - food and service.

Delicious quality food. Staff couldn't be helpful & friendly. We never felt rushed and sat a long time at the end just chatting. We will definitely go back again.

We say…

Set in the picturesque county of Rutland, less than 10 minutes from Oakham town, The Noel at Whitwell is a traditional pub that serves delightful British cuisine using natural produce. Within walking distance from the Rutland Water and the Watersports Centre, The Noel is the ideal venue for relaxing lunch or intimate evening meal.

The Noel boasts a dining room that is fresh and airy during the day and embroidered by candlelight in the evenings. The decor blends modern with traditional, making it a relaxing and enjoyable place to drink and eat. Complete with natural fabrics, flagstone floors, modern lighting and a large open fire, The Noel perfectly harmonises with the surrounding countryside. There is also a beautiful garden which really comes to life in the summer months.

As proud supporters of local produce, The Noel at Whitwell takes great care in blending together the freshest ingredients to create high quality cuisine. In the kitchen, Head Chef Mark experiments with traditional recipes so guests can enjoy a fresh take on all their British favourites.

The menus offers meals that can be enjoyed any time of day from a light lunch all the way through to a sumptuous evening dinner. At lunch, you will find a selection of tasty sandwiches, pastas, salads, as well as larger courses such as Lincolnshire sausages with mash and vegetables, and the nation’s favourite fish and chips with mushy peas. At dinner, the a la carte menu offers both small and large dishes depending on your appetite. Some of the main attractions include the Noel Burger with toasted ciabattas, traditional chips, mixed salad and tomato relish with seared mushrooms & caramelised red onions; and Chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables, basil & pine nut polenta, roasted tomato dressing and glazed feta. The family-friendly venue also provides a children’s menu that has been thoughtfully designed with a selection of their British favourites.

The venue is a popular choice for private parties, and can cater for birthdays, stag nights, hen nights, and other special events. There are also a number function rooms that are ideal for small corporate events, equipped with both Wi-Fi and projector facilities

To top that all off, The Noel at Whitwell has just added an electric car charging point making it Rutlands first fast charge and go point. So if you’re planning a trip to the UK’s smallest county in the upcoming months, then make sure you book your seat at The Noel at Whitwell. With great food, live music, real ale and warm hospitality, there is no reason not to visit one of the most exciting pub restaurants in Rutland.
