We say…

A stunning fine dining restaurant in the heart of Leeds City Centre, The Man Behind the Curtain offers a unique dining experience with an ethos of unforgiving glamour, flavour and brilliant food. Owner Michael O’Hare does not shy away from the fine dining label of the restaurant, regarding it a premium product, an occasion restaurant.

The restaurant itself is spacious and simple – a large loft-type space with characterful exposed beams and plain walls, giving a contemporary feel not dissimilar to that of an art gallery. The dining tables are generously spaced and simple, greenery below the windows adds an element of life and sweeping windows along the walls fills the room with natural light.

The menu has been very carefully crafted by expert chefs to be a sensation of modern British flavours. The evening menu is a compulsory set tasting menu costing £65 per person, and includes twelve dishes of beautifully cooked food with carefully balanced flavours. Each dish is uniquely made and presented by one of four in-house chefs and each dish echoes the strengths of Michelin starred style food. Iconic taster plates such as ox cheek with salt and vinegar wild rice are presented as a beautiful place of flowered food, delicious and bursting with colour. Other dishes such as the Langoustine are a piece of art, served within a sculpture itself, bringing a dramatic and theatrical dimension to the fine dining The Man Behind the Curtain offers, in a wonderland sort of way.

A number of well-loved drinks are available to complete your evening at The Man Behind the Curtain, from delicious wines and Proseccos, to coffees and explosive cocktails, such as the Ziggy Sorreldust and Violet Sour. Of a lunch time, try the restaurant’s menu of champagne and macaroons and enjoy a beautiful Montagne Chardonnay with lemon and lime macaroons for a luxurious taste experience.

A stunning and unique restaurant with all the makings of a world famous affair, the Man Behind the Curtain, Leeds is an excellent addition to the city’s restaurant scene, offering beautiful food in a glamourous environment unlike any other.
