We say…

Not far from the very centre of Sheffield is the charming pub and restaurant The Lescar. A great local with a traditional English pub ethos, The Lescar is a fantastic place to visit for a quiet drink or a relaxing, tasty meal.

Beautifully decorated, the pub blends contemporary style with rich, vintage furnishings and tastes, with deep red leather sofas, rustic wooden tables and stunning fireplaces. Eclectic finishes such as cactuses in teapots adorning the tables and retro lamps and lanterns create a quaint environment that is unique and inviting. A bright pub garden offers 20 tables, with sheltered areas and patio heaters, perfect for al fresco dining. It’s a wonderful, light and spacious area to enjoy your meal or a relaxing drink, and a particularly good place to have a try one of The Lescar’s wide range of Italian lagers, British cask ales and German pilsners.

The menu uses fresh, seasonal ingredients, carefully sourced from the most reputable suppliers to ensure each meal is tastier than the last, so pop in or give them a call to see what is on their monthly menu. Alongside the seasonal dishes, there are some staple favourites which have been perfected, including ample vegetarian options. Try some delicious salt and pepper squid, for example, served with a zesty lime mayonnaise, or rye toast topped with a trio of mushrooms served in a stilton cheese sauce. On the mains menu there are some Lescar takes on hearty pub favourites including fish and chips, made from responsibly sourced fresh hake, served in a cider and tarragon batter with pea puree, tartare sauce and double-cooked chips. Don’t forget to finish your meal with one of many stunning homemade desserts. Why not treat yourself to a lemon and lime crumble tart, or a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla pod ice cream?  On Sundays choose from their fantastic Sunday Lunch menu, serving up roasts with all the trimmings as well as fantastic alternatives like southern fried chicken or rib-eye steaks.

A fantastic pub with a real grasp on what makes pub food great, The Lescar, Sheffield is an excellent option if you’re seeking a no-fuss, beautiful pub and restaurant with lots to offer from the kitchen and behind the bar.
