I had the tart of the day - Breakfast tart with eggs bacon and sausage. It was ok if a little dry. I had been expecting a quiche but it was more like a slab. My friend wanted the same but there was only one portion left. It came with skinny fries that were nicely cooked and a salad garnish which was fresh.

Excellent service, great flavours, big portions! Would definitely visit again - Would like to see a bigger choice for evening. Overall very impressed and hope to see you again soon!

We say…

Independent cafe bistro on Sadler Gate in Derby city centre.

This homely, family-run eatery does great grub throughout the day from hearty breakfasts through cafe lunches and into filling evening meals later in the day.

One of The Kitchen's specialities is their scrumptious wood-fired pizzas which you can enjoy with a draught beer as the venue is fully licensed.

Another reason to visit The Kitchen is for afternoon tea which they serve every day of the week. Make sure you book in advance though.

For a welcoming break from the hustle and bustle of Derby city centre, stop for a meal at The Kitchen.
