The first thing I noticed was how nice it is inside at the Hume Arms now. We were shown to our table straight away & a drinks order taken. I ordered the pate to start & it was lovely. My only criticism on the whole meal was that this dish came with nice soft white bread & also a brown slice of bread that was so hard I daren't bite it. I tried to cut it with a knife & couldn't. I decided to have sausage & mash for my main & that was so tasty! I looked at the other tables meal as it was brought out ... pie & chips & this looked fab too. I will definitely be returning.

We say…

The Hume Arms is set in the beautiful village of Torksey, which is situated on the east bank of the River Trent and noted for its historic castle. Having recently undergone refurbishment, this pub and restaurant has grown to become a stylish, warm and elegant location where visitors can experience the charm of fine pub food and hospitality.

The interior of The Hume Arms works to make the place cosy and inviting, with low lighting, rustic beams and luxury leather seating. Meanwhile the menu is made up of traditional English food complimented by splashes of more abstract ingredients.

For starters, try Chicken liver Pâté with red onion chutney, fresh bread and salad, or mushrooms in a Stilton cream. For mains, sample the homemade steak and ale pie with slow cooked onions in a rich gravy with fresh vegetables and creamy mash potato, or try the slow roasted pork belly accompanied by a roast pearl onion-cider cream.

If you’re vegetarian, opt for Toad out of the hole – a satisfying dish of vegetarian sausages encased within a giant Yorkshire pudding with fresh vegetables and a delicious gravy. If none of these take your fancy, try the watercress and green pesto linguine or hot Spaniard pizza instead. For dessert enjoy a luxurious homemade sticky toffee pudding or Eton mess – a mix of fresh raspberries, strawberries and crunchy meringue.

The Hume Arms is a welcoming village pub that serves a wide variety of delicious meals in a cosy yet modern setting. With incredible value for money and high quality customer service, The Hume Arms makes a perfect location for groups, couples or families seeking a charming pub experience.
