We say…

Nestled within the beautiful University Park Campus at the Nottingham University, Beeston, is an equally stunning bar, café and restaurant; The Hemsley. Just fifteen minutes from Nottingham city centre and in an enviable location surrounded by lush greenery, The Hemsley is a popular choice for wedding receptions, business conferences, dinner for two and parties alike.

Nestled in amongst the trees and plants that populate the vast university campus, The Hemsley is a stylish and contemporary venue that has been transformed by the university from a private house, owned by William Sydney Hemsley in 1904, to a club in 1954 before undergoing extensive refurbishment and opening to the public for the first time in 2006. The restaurant is a bright and airy affair with a minimalist cream colour scheme that is enhanced with little touches such as fresh flowers, comfortable seating and plenty of space.

The restaurant has a reputation for excellence with their winning combination of imaginative and delectable food and attentive, yet unobtrusive, service. All food served at The Hemsley is prepared fresh by the team of talented and passionate Chefs, led by Head Chef Nathan Gooding. To ensure that diners are enjoying the very best flavours, the menu changes monthly with the seasons and the locally available produce. When available you can expect to see dishes such as seared fillet of pork served with apple rosti and black pudding ravioli; fish of the day on a bed of parsley Tagliatelle and a champagne sauce; and sweet potato and wild mushroom pithivier accompanied by a Madeira cream. An equally as exciting lunch menu is also available during the day and a traditional carvery is given a Hemsley twist for those Sunday lunches. In addition to their talent and accomplishments, the kitchen team also have an extensive knowledge of dietary requirements and are more than happy to assist with any dietary needs.

If you are looking for a restaurant that serves top quality food in peaceful surroundings with excellent service and a fantastic reputation to boot, then a visit to The Hemsley restaurant is highly recommended. Whether you’re going for a sit-down meal, a light bite to eat in the café or glass of wine after work, The Hemsley has it all and executes everything to perfection.
