We say…

The Engine House Café in Leeds, located only 5 minutes from Leeds Central Station, provides the perfect platform for a relaxed meal in a pleasant environment. Just a short walk away from the city centre, this cafe is the best spot for a quiet evening without being too far from the hustle and bustle of town.

Although they advertise themselves as a café, often the food and service at The Engine House wouldn't look out of place in a high end restaurant. They serve a number of delicious main courses, including the Grilled Salmon with Maltese Sauce and a selection of roasted vegetables. If you're visiting for the first time you must try the Engine House's very own 'Beast' burger consisting of a 100% homemade beef patty with cheese, bacon, egg, ham and a chicken breast served with a selection of a choice of hand-cut chips, salad or Brazillian cheese breads. For the vegetarians we would always recommend the delicious Spinach and Mushroom Quiche or the lovely Engine House Ratatouille

As well as great food presented impeccably, the staff are friendly and helpful, always looking to ensure that customers feel welcome. The option to host an event such as a wedding reception is on offer and it’s easy to see why The Engine House is a popular choice: the homely vibe that interior creates is the perfect spot for events of celebration. With bags of character, the café has an original and inviting vibe which never fails to draw in the crowds. The bricks on show combined with the chalkboard on the wall suggest quirkiness, with undeniable charm.

Although it is a little hidden away, you will be glad you ventured south of the station to find this gem. With top-quality food and a wonderfully cosy atmosphere, The Engine House Café Leeds is a wonderful find that is well worth visiting.

    Overall:

This is definitely not a cafe, booked Saturday evening for 3 course meal for £20, excellent value and good choices I went for French Onion soup which was very good. Others choose chicken liver pate and Mackerel Pate which again was very good. For mains I went for the Duck Confit which was superb, melted in your mouth! Others choose Hake Bake which I'm told was very good and Engine House Burger which was huge and very tasty we finished off with cheesecake strawberry in chocolate chocolate cake all very good House wine reasonably priced at £15. Only drawback is the lack of people that use this place, we walked past the midnight Bell, Cross Keys and the Foundry all busy only had 3 couples in Engine House Cafe and as good if not better than the ones named above!

    Overall:

Six of us had a very good meal here at The Engine House, the service was food and the food good. The place is lovely although it got a bit quiet later on and the only problem is that they only have bottles of Peroni - no other beer or lager which is a bit limiting especially if you don't like Peroni.

    Overall:

Excellent food, good quality, good choice and made to feel welcome at The Engine House - highly recommended compared to some of the cold, ready meals on offer in the restaurants in Greek Street!

A relaxing meal in fine company! Went to the Engine House for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu looked so delicious that it took me a while to decide on a dish, but I'm very happy to have selected the smoked haddock risotto because it was utterly divine. I will we definelty be booking again soon at The Engine House! -- Alex
