What a fabulous place! It was a bitterly cold evening as we made our way to the Duke William restaurant, Bailgate, Lincoln. On entering the doors we were met with sheer warmth and the most helpful staff immediately.
Every table had flower petals and a liit candle upon it, adding an extra touch in keeping with Valentines evening.
The food tasted exceptional and was visually inviting. The menu was varied with plenty of choices.
The levels of customer service displayed were outstanding and all in all a lovely evening was had. When we visit Lincoln again we shall be in no doubt to eat here again and bring friends along next time. -

This was our first visit to this venue.
As soon as we arrived, we were greatly impressed. No plastic palace, just a venue of character, lovely, friendly ambience.
An excellent menu, attentive and helpful, friendly staff.
Prompt efficient service and the food was great. Truly great!
We consider ourselves to be regular, discerning diners, and we were impressed.
Slightly confused at the billing, which could have been a misunderstanding on our part, so politely said nothing.
We thought we had a wine and dinner deal, but did cost more.
Will certainly return. -
Rosanna Mcglone –
Very disappointing. Poor service and an absurd failure to have a wine list which resulted in the waitress standing at the table attempting to recite them totally spoilt the evening, despite good quality food.

The food at the Duke William was very good value and tasty. The service excellent, polite and efficient. Ambiance; well it is a pub and a bit barren with over noisy music, but they did turn it down when asked. All in all a good experience.
