Definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Nottingham! Such delicious food, and always a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts.

Fab food couldn't fault it, my favourite Indian restaurant.

    Solid all round experience.

Excellent food in a nice busy environment. Professional set up, with talented chefs. I will go again. Very welcoming indeed.

Just a generic curry house that has Deliveroo drivers taking up waiting space in the foyer. Disappointed.

Great food...we especially love the Byriani which comes in an individual pot, sealed with pastry to keep all the juices and flavour in...we tried all varieties so can definitely recommend. Our 4 stars for ambiance is because it can get really noisy especially on a Saturday (at least it's popular!) but you may wish to bear this in mind when booking if you want a quiet meal...ask them as often the larger parties are upstairs so a downstairs' table will suit you better.

Great as always, the best option in town by miles

    Great food and service

    Thanks, always good food.

Mid week meal, early evening. Had booked in advance for meal deal. Overall good standard of food and service, restaurant could do with make over to brighten the place up but satisfied with the evening.

Great food, good service, nice restaurant.

Excellent curry, wonderful service and good value for money.
The biriyani was fantastic as were the salmon starters.

A lovely authentic atmosphere and excellent service. A fine selection of dishes all very nicely presented. I know that everyone in my party thought their meal was delicious and would recommend to a friend.

Very friendly staff, all smiles. Food was as good as your fine diners up the road. As a couple, we like to try various restaurants but we would both be more than happy to revisit. Thank you to the staff and chefs for a very pleasant evening.

The Cumin is a great place to eat, food was fab as always. All 4 us had a great night. Will definitely be returning soon

Superb. Tasty, spicy curry. Great service, friendly staff. One of the best curries in Nottingham.

Another lovely meal. They obviously care about their customers too, as they remembered what I had last time and that I had been going to the theatre afterwards, and when I said we were going to the theatre on this occasion too, they ensured we got extra prompt service. We even had time for dessert and tried cardamom kulfi for the first time. Highly recommended!

My friend and I took advantage of the Go Dine discount for a pre-theatre dinner. We are both vegetarian and, after a little pondering, there being plenty of choice, both decided to have the chole bhatura. It was agreed between us that it was a great choice. We have a bottle of the house white wine, which was good, but sadly no time for dessert. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The location is good for Nottingham Playhouse and the city centre.

    Great place with excellent food.

Definitely my favourite indian restaurant in Nottingham! Amazing food and service as always, and some lovely new dishes on their menu.

Another great meal. Always a friendly welcome. Sonny and his staff excelled themselves again. Fantastic.

Very busy but the service was excellent. Lamb biryani was very tasty and filling.

Delicious food - definitely the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham! I particularly enjoy their starters. And the owners are lovely as well!

Nice food as always, and some new starters which were amazing.

Still the best Indian along Maid Marion. Ours that overpriced Calcutta Club to shame.

Always friendly greeting from the owners, great service, cracking food, and a nice 25% go dine discount.

Very good food at a reasonable price, good service and a friendly welcome.

Very enjoyable evening; tried the tandoori mixed grill for the first time.

Food was amazing, piping hot, service fantastic, cannot fault the restaurant, would recommend it!

The food was quite good, but a bit too expensive and there was a group of guys who'd had a few to drink so the ambiance wasn't particularly pleasant.

Really pleasant and helpful staff at The Cumin, attentive without being intrusive. Nice surroundings upstairs where it is quiet. Food good and ordered to suit tastes. Only one downside, we had to ask for the 25% discount on the bill, it was not done automatically.

Great curry, nice and spicy with really tender lamb. Draft Cobra well priced. Good service and friendly staff. We have been going here for years it's one of the best in Nottingham.

Great end to a good day with friends. 1 meal was missed off our order even though there was only 3 of us but was soon rectified.

Fantastic as always at The Cumin, great service, great food. The 25% discount is great for large groups.

The Cumin is a great place to eat, food was fab! My Husband and Dads main meal were served the wrong way round and by the time my Dad realized (the meal he was served become a bit to hot for him) it was too late for them to swap as my husband had ate most of his dish.,. Apart for that the. All 4 us had a great night. All I would say is that the wine is a little pricey but the 25% discount makes up for that.

Definitely the best Indian in Nottingham. Delicious food and very friendly service. As this was for a birthday, we were seated in the upstairs curtained area, which was lovely. Can't recommend highly enough!

Fantastic as always. Friendly and quick service at The Cumin, still the best curry on Maid Marion by a country mile.

The 25% GO DINE discount is the icing in the cake.

Great food and service, never fails

Very friendly, helpful service, delicious food (especially the chili paneer) and very good value.

Very good atmosphere at The Cumin. Excellent food and service!

The staff were attentive and customer service was excellent from arriving at The Cumin until our departure.

The food was excellent and service was excellent.

    The Ambiance was also good.

Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham! And really friendly service too. The masala fish is so tasty. And there was a queue out of the door on a week night: testament to how good this place is!

Ambience hampered by a stag night, noisy and offensive. But the food was good, waiting staff friendly at The Cumin.

Lovely food at The Cumin! Dining area a little cramped though. Good value for money, the 25% off main meal was a bonus.

Attentive service at the Cumin, tasty food and manageable portions.

All very good at The Cumin, would recommend anyone to go!

Its always good food and service at The Cumin!

A great meal at The Cumin, I think its the best in town, Sunny the owner is always welcoming!

Once again we have returned to The Cumin following in from a day out with my parents at Nottingham Beer festival. From our last visit we were more aware if the fact that you only get 25% discount off a main and starter, the food was amazing last time and I couldn't wait to have the Murg Makhni again and take my parents to sample the food.

We were warmly welcomed and our waiter took our order, my only mistake was that I hadn't read my previous godine review to remember the name of the dish I had previously had, I described it to the waiter and he said it would have been the Methi Murg. Our starters were great but when the young waitress brought our main course out, the only one she knew the name of one dish which was my Mum's prawn dish, I ended up with my Dads lamb dish and my husband with mine, this wasn't a problem we all swapped our dishes to what we thought was right, only by this time I had eaten a little on the chicken dish which was far to hot for me, swapped again with my husband and it was then I realized that the dish I thought I had ordered was something completely different and to spicy for me.

We will return again but next time I will make sure I remember the name of the dish previously ordered or choose a mild one.

As always, the Cumin is one of the top curry houses in Nottingham.

First time at the Cumin and what a meal. Nice open (ish) kitchen so you can watch the action.
Had a simple Karai, but what a dish. Other half is veggie and had plenty of options.

Excellent stuff. The Cumin is a cross between the old school curry houses but with a much better menu.
Food was great and a wide range to chose from. Service great, well stocked bar. Highly recommended.

Not bad at all. Starters great, main course nice and spicy. Reasonable prices. Would recommend The Cumin for a cheap Indian.

Great food, not a massive amount to choose from but this my husband and I thought was a bonus as in some restaurants you can spend far to long choosing your meal.

Great that you get 25% discount off a main and starter but although the Go dine website does state 'not off drinks or any other courses' more emphasis should be made to the fact that this doesn't include, rice, nan etc. Also a little pricey for a bottle of wine.

We will definitely be going there again though even with the 2 minor points above as the food was great, I had the Murg Makhni for main which was presented to our table and had the most amazing smell (quite smokey) and tasted amazing too, never had a dish like this before!

The staff were great too, we had trouble getting into Nottingham due to the traffic so we rang the restaurant and were very kindly told not to rush, to take our time and get there when we could as no one was booked on the table after us.

Great night all in all, we'll see you again soon

Loved the food here at Cumin. The service was impeccable! We were a group of 13 in a rush to get to a prebooked comedy show so had to be in and out within an hour and we were as the staff did all they could for us. Price wise... I found it very reasonable and cheaper than a lot of places I have eaten at previously. The food was amazing!! Such a nice meal that we all enjoyed. I would go here again without a second thought!

Delicious chili paneer and boti kebab, masala fish as good as ever, perfect garlic naan, very friendly reception as always.

My family visited Nottingham recently and we booked The Cumin restaurant. The service was very good, you could not fault the staff who were polite and attentive with complimentary popadoms and dips served while waiting for main course. Delicious, tantalising your tastebuds. Would certainly go there again.

My family visited Nottingham recently and we booked The Cumin restaurant. Restaurant in advance of my visit as it was well rated by other customers. This restaurant's menu was really good and the flavours of the food was awesome. The service was very good you could not fault the staff who were polite and attentive with complimentary popadoms and dips served while waiting for main course.Would certainly go again when down in this area. Thank you for a good end to my day.

The Cumin - lovely place and food, as always. A favourite. Good vegetarian selection.

Delicious food at The Cumin, which is also bit different to a normal Indian menu. The chilli paneer is absolutely delicious!

Excellent value for money and as ever; very tasty food at The Cumin.

My first visit to Cumin after several recommendations from friends and I wasn't disappointed. Great food and good value - especially with the GoDine offer.

Another great meal at The Cumin in Nottingham. The food is excellent - with a great variety of dishes.

Went to Cumin in Nottingham. It was a vibrant evening with a great atmosphere- everyone enjoying themselves. They cleverly put the stag/hen/large parties doenstairs too!

The service was excellent, we had 3 staff serving us throughout. The lady on the front desk was exceptionally friendly and even the manager checked up on our meal.

The food was excellent. Very tasty, served promptly. If anything maybe could have done with a tad more spice- but that's my own pallet. If you like your food with taste and not just heat- this is an excellent choice well located in Nottingham.

Food was very nice and the service friendly. Worth a try.

Requested a table upstairs which was honoured. Nice atmosphere. Lovely food and good service.

I took my girlfriend and had a good time. Enjoyed the mix grill starter which came out sizzling (always exciting!) and the poppadoms. For main I had lamb korma which was very nice - the lamb was well cooked and had retained a purpleness to the meat inside (probably seared before being cooked in the sauce) and my girlfriend had a really nice prawn curry - the butterflied prawns were really big and had good texture. Shared a nice dessert to finish and an Irish coffee (cream was a bit thin) to finish. Service was very warm and attentive. Would highly recommend.

Went to the Cumin after a show at the Playhouse and had a lovely meal. Even though it was very late, we were still treated excalty as we should be, we weren't rushed and the service was unobtrusive. I had the Bhuna Gosht which was lovely soft pieces of Lamb with peppers and onions. My wife had the Goan Prawn Curry and really enjoyed herself! Thanks Cumin, we shall see you soon!

The Cumin restaurant was an average meal out with small portions. The service was slow and not attentive. I will not be going back.

Great food and service. Would definitely return.

Lovely evening! Excellent service and very flavoursome food. A busy restaurant which has a good atmosphere. Just need to tidy up the toilets for a full set of 8's.

We went to the Cumin as it was recommended by the hotel we were staying in. We walked there on a very cold night in March and were received politely by the staff. The Tandoori plate appetizer was excellent and the Dal makhni and Goan Prawn curry were extremely tasty. All of the food was well spiced and service was faultless.

Service was slow and our bill was wrong!

Excellent food, staff extremely helpful and very pleasant. Struggled to attract their attention a couple of time...but it was busy!!! Overall a very good experience!

Food was good as always, although the Rogan Josh was a little overdone. I found the waiter very sexist in automatically presenting me with the bill, as my girlfriend was paying today.

Excellent food and service. Food cooked from fresh (not reheated!) and an excellent atmosphere. Have been back since, many times!

We had a fabulous meal at this restaurant last night. The food was excellent and well spiced, the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was good too. Our sons, whose birthdays we were celebrating, were given very tasty Indian carrot cake. I would certainly visit again.

Nice food, but a little expensive, even with the Go dine offer.

Excellent food / Brilliant service. The whole experience was fantastic and the decor on the upper levels with the lighting was also fantastic.

    Another excellent curry at Cumin!

Staff were very helpful in describing dishes. I have marked the toilets down, because the decor was all black walls and tiles making it hard to see cleaarly. The hand dryer was not working and it needed dusting. Toilets themselves were clean.

Some good reviews of this place so it had a lot to live up to. Didn't disappoint though, food was excellent even though it was late and staff no doubt wanted to go home! Highly recommend, as good as any curry in the area, if not better.

Been to this restaurant many times and it never fails to impress me. We took along some friends who hadn't been to cumin before and they all really enjoyed it.

Excellent food with very pleasant service.

The 8 on ambience and 9 overall are only due to some need for sound absorbency when there are louder tables nearby. Otherwise, it would be 10s right across the board.

Definitely a favourite and no need to go higher up Maid Marian Way!!

First time we've been but I would go again. The food was superb.

Excellent once again, you can tell its a family concern, ambience makes it. Food very salty again as after taste.

The food was amazing, I'd recommend the Aloo Tikki starter - fantastic! Portions were large & we were very impressed the staff made recommendations. Service was prompt, friendly & informative. We were made to feel like old friends on out first visit!

excellent restaurant would reccomend to everyone, the best indian food in notts

Very friendly, good food and atmosphere, you could tell it was a family run concern and the customer is king

In no way could it be better.
I will be recommending the Cumin to my friends.

Me and my wife won a valentines meal for two at the cumin from radio trent fm, the food was excellent and the staff made you feel really welcome. A great experience, thank you.

Our usual indian restaurant is another one located on Maid Marion Way, but I am glad we tried yours. We will come back to you.

    Excellent food. Good service

You couldn't ask for better service if you tried - the food was a bit spicy but good apart from the mango chutney which was too hot (not sweet). I would gladly go back again.

We had a very good meal at the Cumin. I really enjoyed the Peshwari nan bread, I always get that when going for a curry but this was absolutely perfect. Shelley recommended us to try some particular beers to go with our meal and they were really good too - nice touch. The mains and sides we had were excellent (I had lamb curry with mushroom rice) and my Dad said his chicken curry dish was one of the best curries he has ever had (repeatedly!). In a nutshell the Cumin has a trendy and comfortable restaurant and the food is made with top quality ingredients, it tastes superb and I will definately be going again. :)

Went for Valentines day, nice restaurant, menu was a little hard to understand and not explained as was a special menu for the day. Overall the staff were polite and the service was very good, the food was also very nice except the the desert (fruit pudding) was completely frozen in the middle, we then told them about this and they brought another one, which again was frozen solid so we gave up, they did however knock abit off the bill but not without having the final word and being rather rude saying 40 other people had eaten it but when i looked around no one actually had and had left the rock hard fruit and just eaten the soggy sponge!barring the pudding situation overall it was a rather nice evening.

Very good selection of vegetarian choices on the menu.
