Spectacular meal from start to finish. Lovely location overlooking the Trent on one side and countryside on the other. Food was delicious and well presented. Staff were lovely. Didn't visit the toilets but assumer they would be to the same high standards as the rest of the place.

We say…

The Bridge and Bayleaf is an Indian restaurant and bar located at the side of the River Trent in Gunthorpe. Situated on the site of the original Gunthorpe Toll Bridge, just up the road from Tom Brown’s Brasserie, the toll cottage that now houses the restaurant was built in 1875 and has since been lovingly restored to create a comfortable and unique venue in which to enjoy good food, stunning views and time with friends and family.

The Bridge and Bayleaf offers plenty of customer parking for its guests; an amenity that many city or town centre venues are able to offer. As you step inside the stone building you are welcomed into a contemporary space with a relaxed and warm ambience. The dining room is spacious and boasts views out across the Trent thanks to the floor to ceiling windows which open out onto the terrace. During the summer months, the terrace is the ideal place to enjoy a few drinks on a balmy evening whilst in the winter the lights twinkle off the river, adding a touch of romance.

Offering the very best of North Indian cuisine, The Bridge and Bayleaf prides itself on cooking dishes that are not only beautifully presented and flavoursome but are heart-healthy too. All dishes are cooked using minimal oil and only the best quality meat and fish and the freshest ingredients. You can expect to find some of the nation’s favourite dishes on the menu, alongside a few clever house specialities and some more unusual dishes that should not be overlooked. The garlic chilli salmon, a boneless salmon marinated in a garlic and chilli dressing and cooked in the clay oven, comes very highly recommended, as does the lamb achari cooked with fresh and tangy Indian pickles.

If you are looking for the finest Indian cuisine in Nottingham, look no further than the Bridge and Bayleaf in Gunthorpe. The menus boast the very best authentic Northern Indian food and this teamed with their spectacular location, beautiful venue, polite service and well-thought-out wine list all combine to create the ultimate gastronomic experience.
