We say…

The Thatch Restaurant is a grade II listed building located within the chocolate-box village of Bottesford,  in the stunning Vale of Belvoir, on the borders of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.

The restaurant is in a gorgeous building steeped in history and with a beautiful authentic thatched roof. Bursting with picturesque rustic charm, the building is a lovely example of traditional village houses still full of character and allure. The dining area has a simple country feel, with exposed wooden ceiling beams and a brick fireplace with a real log burner. Exposed brick walls and quaint floral curtains create a dainty, fresh dining atmosphere perfect for light lunches and intimate dinners. An outside courtyard area offers plenty of space for alfresco dining and a grassy area perfect for sitting in the sun or for the kids to run off some energy.

Great food is at the heart of the Thatch Restaurant, sourcing only the freshest ingredients from local suppliers for daily changing menus. The restaurant are more than happy to cater for any special dietary requirements, but it is advisable to give prior notice when booking. Choose from a selection of simple, delicious classic English dishes such as fillet of beef Wellington, served with truffle mash, onion puree and red wine sauce. Fish lovers should try a beautiful poached halibut fillet, with champ mash, pink grapefruit and coriander hollandaise sauce. A selection of traditional roast dinners are also available, each served with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. Choose the vegetarian nut roast with tomato and basil salsa, or a stunning roast loin of ‘old spot’ pork, served with roast potatoes, glazed apples and crackling. A fantastic pudding menu has something to keep everyone happy, with a choice of both hot and cold desserts, such as apple and raisin crumble, Bailey’s bread and butter pudding and delightful black cherry and shortbread trifle. An extensive wine list is available for you to choose from as well as a full bar open to provide drinks service throughout your meal.
