We say…

Thailand No.1 in Lincoln is just one of three Thailand No.1 restaurants across the East Midlands. The restaurant pride themselves on using authentic Thai ingredients, flown in each week from Thailand, to create visually stunning and delicious Thai cuisine.  Located on Bailgate a popular stretch for dinking and dining establishment in Lincoln, the restaurant is an ideal hub from which to explore this historic and beautiful city and enjoy some not so typically Lincolnshire cuisine.

A theme runs across all three branches of Thailand No.1 and the purple colour scheme is one of the restaurant’s most vivid attributes. The front of the building is an eye-popping purple that draws customers in and once inside, guests are treated to a relaxing oasis of warm colours and soft lighting. There are several separate dining rooms, each of which offer a different dining experience. The main room is sultry and romantic with textured wall papers, coloured lighting and Orchid fairy lights adorning the tables. There is an airy conservatory that diners can also be seated in that is bright and modern, with flashes of green and pink that help to bring the outside, in.

On the menu diners can expect to find classic Thai dishes that even the most inexperienced guest will recognise, such as the Gaeng Kiew Waan, or Thai Green Curry, or the Gaeng Mussaman; a Thai yellow curry that is popular in Southern Thailand that is flavoured with coconut  milk, peanuts and potatoes, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and cumin with a choice of bean curd, chicken, beef or pork. Whilst these dishes are still exquisite, the Chef’s Specialities is where you will find true Thai cuisine.

Less commonly recognised dishes such as the Gai Maa Now; tender lemon chicken topped with sweet chilli sauce and served in a foil chicken boat, and Hor Mok Talay; mixed seafood cooked in a Thai red curry flavoured with lemongrass, kachai root, slices of lime leave and fresh, sweet basil leaves, are good choices for those looking to be a bit more adventurous.

Thailand No.1 Lincoln is the perfect venue to host a special occasion as the friendly staff, opulent surroundings and delicious food combine to create a truly memorable dining experience.
