We say…

The word Teppanyaki is derived from "teppan", meaning hot iron plate, and "yaki", which means to grill or fry, and that's exactly how food is done at Teppanyaki Leeds! Situated in Leeds' famous Belgrave Hall, Teppanyaki have made the preparation of Japanese cuisine an art form in itself; the chefs prepare your food on built in tabletop grills before your eyes! Around the corner from the Grand Theatre and in close proximity to Leeds' best shopping locations, Teppanyaki is the perfect place for a weekend dinner or pre-theatre bite.

The dining space at Teppanyaki is arranged around six giant tabletop grills, the perfect design for a sociable gathering. The decor is otherwise kept simple, with cream walls and dark wooden furnishings, yet maintains character in every detail: Japanese screens and rich red accents give the restaurant an authentic edge.

When it comes to food, the Teppanyaki chefs show off their skills as entertainers and, most importantly, as masters of Japanese Teppanyaki cuisine. The menu is split into sushi, starters and main courses, as well as set menus and a pre-theatre menu should you be heading to a show. Start with an appetiser of chicken and crabmeat dumplings served in sweet chilli sauce, or the classic chicken katsu. Sushi lovers will be in heaven: try the Osinko Maki (pickle) or the Gioheri Sashimi (rare beef) if you haven't already! For your main, go for a Teppanyaki Speciality such as the king prawns and scallops cooked with asparagus and Tokyo butter sauce, or a classic prime sirloin of beef. There are some great side dishes also available, including the garlic-filled mushrooms and mange tout with tomato, onions and garlic.

The perfect place for a group of friends, whether you're celebrating or just heading out after work, Teppanyaki is as entertaining as it is delicious. The restaurant is often busy, so booking is highly recommended.
