Fantastic food and great service. Although slightly chilly for the wife when sat downstairs.

The restaurant was busy but we were promptly showed to our table with our predinner drinks. The menu was wide and varied enabling our party to choose a selection of different dishes. All of the food was well cooked and attractively presented. The Ox cheek Bourguignon was really tender and the dish full of flavour. The lamb rack was tasty and the accompanying coated breast of lamb offered a different but well executed experience. The rump and rib eye steaks were decent chunks of meat that were well cooked and full of flavour. The peppercorn sauce was a little disappointing and indeed mistaken for additional gravy to accompany a side of mash. It lacked body. The main drawback to the meal was the inordinate delay between ordering and delivery of dessert some 35 mins. This was a shame as the rest of the service was excellent with Juan taking good care of our needs.

Good food slightly over priced, not very busy at all only us and another table so not much atmosphere but good service.

Went for the £23.00 - 3 course offer. Great service throughout! Starter excellent we went for Mussels & Terrine, Main meal Rump steak rather fatty and poor cut, though Burger much better. Delicious desserts we chose Lemon Eton Mess & Toffee Sticky Pudding - really nice. Would recommend, avoid steak option though.

Everything about the place was fantastic thank you so much. Only let down when I booked restaurant I put that it was my girlfriend birthday treat and thought might of got a little cake with candle on top lol but was not a problem. Would love to come back and recommend restaurant to all my friends. Merry Christmas to all the staff.

Amazing venue. Food was the best we have ever tasted & the service was impeccable, the staff are a credit to the business. Nothing was too much trouble & the staff gave advice on all dishes & cocktails. The whole experience was amazing & we will definitely be back after coming from hull to sample this restaurant!

Food was great - wine wasn't Pinot think it was more like Chardonnay but apart from that good evening.

We ate at 6 so chose from the set price menu. First courses of mussels & pate were excellent. We both had rump steak for our mains. Mine was very grisly although both were tender and cooked to perfection. The steaks did not come with any side dish just a little garnish so we needed to buy side dishes as they aren't part of the set price menu. Sides are £3 each. The wine was very good but very expensive compared to wines of similar quality in other restaurants - say Blackhouse or Restuarant Bar and Grill. All in all we were disappointed.

The food was top class and delicious. We will definitely be visiting again. Would certainly recommend.

We say…

Only a seven minute walk from Leeds Central Station and two minutes from the famed nightlife of Greek Street, Stockdales Premium Steakhouse is perfectly positioned in the heart of the city. Standing out from the crowd of steak-based restaurants in Leeds, Stockdales is out to impress from the moment you walk through the door. Opened in September 2015, it has already established itself as one of the best dining venues in the city. The kitchen is fronted by Michelin trained chef Jonathon Davies, who has experience in top restaurants throughout North East England.

As for the restaurant interior, the dining room feels airy and inviting, with high windows that allow the sunlight to stream through on long summer nights: the interior feels simple and comfortable yet stylish. A large display cabinet can be found inside: here is where the restaurant ages its meat, a minimum of 28 days on all cuts. Accompanied by brilliant and personal service, you will always feel welcome at Stockdales.

Although Stockdales models itself as a Premium Steakhouse, it also serves a wide range of dishes that have enabled it to sit comfortably in the fine dining restaurant field of Leeds. Nevertheless, Stockdales is definitely the place to be if it's quality beef you're after. We love the wagyu beef burger served with a house brioche bun, bacon jam and house pickles. Cooked in the special josper charcoal grill, there are a full range of cuts available: from sirloin to rib eye, as well as the delicious special British wagyu cuts. For those who want to try something slightly different, there is always the delicious josper roasted turbot on the bone served with braised red wine shallots and caper and shallot butter dressing. Even the vegetarians among us are in for a treat, with dishes such as the jerusalem artichoke risotto with toasted pumpkin seeds and roasted artichokes standing out from the menu.

Whatever the occasion, Stockdales is a brilliant dining destination. With beautifully-aged steaks and a delicious range of other dishes, Stockdales has brought a new breed of fine dining to Leeds' city centre.
