We say…

Nestled within the stunning Peak District countryside is England's most elavated market town, Buxton. A popular tourist destination, the spa town offers plenty to see and do including the Devonshire Dome and the Springs shopping centre. The central location or St Moritz, a short walk from the railway station, the university campus and most of Buxton’s main attractions, means the restaurant is a popular stop-off point with shoppers, students and tourists alike.

Set amongst some of Buxton’s most stunning architecture, and named after one of Switzerland’s most famous ski resorts, St Moritz combines the local limestone facade with traditional Swiss décor. Wooden flooring, wall and furniture work to give the feel of a classic log cabin, whilst dim lighting and deep red walls provide a warm, cosy and intimate atmosphere. An upper balcony provides more dining space and a chance to view some of the snow sports memorabilia adorning the walls.

St Moritz base their ever-evolving menu on Swiss and Italian classics whilst utilising the best of local, seasonal produce, meaning dining options do change depending on season. As well as a number of steaks and chicken dishes, there are a wide range of pastas such as tagliatelle, risotto or lasagne and pizzas with a host of different and exciting toppings available. Specials change daily, with freshly caught local fish often on the menu.

A unique, authentic Swiss-Italian dining experience, St Moritz is a must visit for anyone making a trip to Buxton. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff mean the restaurant is a fantastic stop-off point for shoppers and students, whilst an excellent pre-theatre menu is ideal for visitors to the nearby Opera House.
