We say…

The Spice Lounge is one of the finest curry houses in Leeds, and is situated just outside the heart of the city on Selby Road. It’s near the pretty Primrose Valley Park, Temple Newsam Park Golf Course and is also near the Halton Moor, Elm and Oak, Chacoal, Wilderness and Dawson’s Woods. So, if you’re planning an outdoorsy weekend in the scenic Yorkshire countryside, you can’t go wrong following it up with a curry near Leeds’ bustling city centres. It’s the quality one might expect from a central curry restaurant, but is convenient in terms of parking and traffic, so ditch the city centre chains and visit this family-owned eatery.

The restaurant is convenient inside, too, as it can cater for large groups as well as smaller parties. You’ll love the classic red, black and white colour scheme, as it really lets the food take centre stage. Don’t be afraid to ask the lovely waiting staff for advice, too, as they really know their stuff and can help you out if you’d like recommendations or a dish tweaking to suit your individual palette or dietary requirement.

Start off with a selection of traditional Indian dishes. We recommend as many popadoms as you can eat, they’re lovely mixed with the assorted pickle tray. We also love the sizzling platter of chicken and lamb tikka with sheek kebabs and tandoori wings. There’s also the crispy meat or vegetable samosas if you want something deep-fried and delicious. For your main course, try the tandoori chicken made with the traditional clay tandoor oven, which really seals in moisture and flavour. If you can’t decide, go for a set meal of various bits and bobs to share between a couple of people, as then you’ll get to try a bit of everything the Spice House has to offer.

The Spice House is a great destination for fans of real curry in Leeds, pop by next time you’re hungry and they’ll make your meal a success.
