Greeting was friendly, the food sublime and we will be dining with you again next time we are in Leeds.

Busy Saturday night but still managed to keep the excellent service up. Took along some friends who were new to Shebab, they were very impressed!

What else can I say but a well deserved 5 star for everything!!!

Food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly & happy to make smaller portions for our children. Would highly recommend booking as it did get busy.

We say…

The oldest Indian restaurant in Leeds, Shabab on Eastgate first opened its doors in 1973. Shabab has enjoyed a growing reputation since then, thanks to the team's dedication to serving authentic dishes made using only the freshest ingredients. Enjoying an ideal location on Eastgate, Shabab is within walking distance of Leeds' Shopping Plaza and the rail station as well as the theatre and popular nightlife spots.

Shabab goes above and beyond the normal offerings of an Indian restaurant. The décor uses a deep and rich colour palette of reds and golds, creating a vibrant, opulent dining experience. The attention to detail is exquisite: from the individually painted and upholstered chairs to intricately carved shutters, authentic Indian lamps suspended from the ceiling and the stunning bar and lounge area, nothing has been overlooked.

The menu is packed with delicious Indian dishes that are just as exciting and vibrant as the restaurant itself. Every dish is presented beautifully and is full of flavour. For starters, why not try the lahori machee grill, made with grilled steaks of fish and served with a creamy sauce-bursting with flavour. For the main try a selection of poppadums and home-made sundries for the signature dish of murgh balti. Ordering a naan to accompany your main is highly recommended; at roughly 2 feet in length and cooked in the in-house tandoor oven, the result is light, fluffy and delicious. It is perfectly sized for two diners and will go perfectly with any dish.

Shabab Indian restaurant on Eastgate is a truly exceptional restaurant that benefits from a central location in Leeds' city centre. The service is absolutely first class, as is the food and the venue itself. If you are looking for a truly exceptional Indian restaurant then look no further than Shabab. It's perfect for any occasion, whether you're a couple or a large party; Shabab always provides a memorable evening, and the experience will see you become a loyal customer after no time at all.
