We say…

Located just 9 miles from Nottingham city centre, The Sanctuary bar and restaurant provides exactly that; a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Just off the A52, in close proximity to the Radcliffe-on-Trent golf club, this stylish and tranquil venue offers guests a peaceful haven to retreat to whilst enjoying a bite to eat, a few drinks and a couple of hours ‘me’ time.

With a name like ‘The Sanctuary’ it is no surprise that the entire establishment is luxurious, indulgent and glamorous. From the moment you arrive you will begin to feel the peaceful ambience wash over you and as you make your way across the brand new terrace, complete with comfortable and stylish furniture of course, it’s easy to recognise that this is a really special place to be. Everything is decorated in neutral shades of grey and cream and finnished off with beautiful original crystal chandeliers. Monochrome accents add interests and everything is swathed in soft lighting to create an intimate and relaxed ambience.

The restaurant can seat up to 50 diners comfortably with room for more outside and if it’s just drinks and nibbles you’re after the trendy bar and lounge can seat over 20 people. Private parties will also find themselves well catered for as a large function room is available for private hire. The Chef is also more than happy to create a bespoke menu specifically for your event, the perfect finishing touch for a birthday party, anniversary or christening. The Sanctuary is also a very family-friendly venue, with children being welcomed with open arms and treated to their own special menu.

Whatever your reasons for visiting The Sanctuary, you can rest assured that you will be greeted warmly and there will be a menu to suit your mood. From the bar nibbles menu to a 3 course dinner or a casual Sunday lunch, all of the menus are created using seasonal ingredients to showcase the stunning local, high-quality produce available in Nottinghamshire including the most recent addition being beef and steak from the Longhorn cattle reared at Hardwick Hall Farm. When seasonally available, highly recommended dishes include The Sanctuary Caesar salad; beer battered fish and chips; and monkfish wrapped in pancetta accompanied by creamed leeks and rosti. The Sunday lunch menu is equally as indulgent offering classic roast options as well as a few more exotic creations.

The Sanctuary bar and restaurant in Upper Saxondale, Nottingham, is a decadent venue that offers a relaxed dining experience and a soothing atmosphere that is perfect for washing away the stresses of the day. Pre-booking your table is highly recommended for evening service and Sunday lunch as well as their special events which include live music night, steak nights and their fantastic ladies night!

    Overall:

Quietly surprised and impressed. Only reason food didn't get 10 is that we would have liked more veg on the plate.

Went for Sunday lunch and had a lovely time! The restaurant is very sophisticated but so family friendly - it even has a toy box and colouring books to keep the kids entertained. Food was lovely and very good value for money. Will be returning.
