An lovely restaurant with excellently friendly and attentive staff. The food was brilliant and the service was very good. I don't like the service charge added to the bill, I prefer to tip the staff myself (and I then know they get it).

Superb service - excellent food...could not fault this at all!
Nice touches with speciality plates and Brandy warmers etc - A truly different experience to the typical pub food places. Well worth a visit for special occasions - Its great for that.
But.... bring a large bag of money - you may need it if you don't use their 'specials' before 7pm (as most people do its dead by 8pm).
We were offered more drinks at 8.45pm but then were told that the Coffee machine had already been shut down and cleaned, so no hot drinks - coffee liqueurs - Tea etc was available.
As such we left and went to a normal bar. The bill for 9 people was £311 - would have been more if they had wanted us to stay longer. It seems like they were ready to close and go home.
Went on a Thursday - which is possibly not there busy night and I am sure would be more accommodating on a busy weekend. -

I ordered a side salad but it did not come, we didn't miss it and I only realised when I got home and I am unsure if we paid for it. Other than that perfect as usual!

The 2 for £15 offer was very good value but the the wine prices are a bit extreme. The service was faultless.

We visit here regularly and love it however this visit wasn't up to its usual high standards. The service was slow, the portion sizes were very small compared to what is usually served. The red wine jus was tasteless.
The pub is closing for a week so think that impacted upon our visit.
For the type if restaurant they need to invest upon some simple maintenance such as the dirty extractor fan stuck on with sellotape and a working hand dryer in the toilets as its been out of order for over a year.
Despite this it's usually lovely at Salute. -
Steve MOORHOUSE –
Food and service up to it's usual standard, which is always good or better! Was slightly disappointed in how cold the room was and whilst the candles in the fireplace look nice, I think better ways could be found of providing heat. Was early lunchtime and I'm sure the ambiance would have improved as the afternoon went on. Very, very tasty food though and that's what we were there for really!

Food was great and the atmosphere was quite lively! Service was a tiny bit slow but we had a couple of drinks to kill the time. I'd recommend this place for groups of friends rather than couples.

We say…
Situated just off the M62 in Rothwell is Salute: a restaurant, pizzeria and bar located within the old White Swan pub. Serving up authentic Italian cuisine in a bright and stylish environment, the restaurant is easy and quick to access from Leeds City Centre.
The restaurant was reopened in 2004 and was met by high praise from diners and critics alike. Described as a ‘neighbourhood’ venue, Salute makes every effort to create a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for its guests. Though it may look like an ordinary pub from the outside, the interior is anything but. From the patterned seating to the ornate bookshelves, the restaurant boasts a fresh and unique atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing lunch or dinner.
As well as the main restaurant, Salute at The White Swan is also home to a private dining room called the Cygnet Suite: a sleek and spacious room with a fully-licensed bar that can be hired for 10 to 25 people for a birthday party, personal celebration or business dinner. It can also be used as a drinks function or buffet for up to 45 guests; the staff at Salute are more than happy to help plan and cater for the event.
The food served at Salute is of the highest quality and calibre: guests can rest assured that they will receive nothing but top-quality dishes using both familiar and original recipes from the freshest produce. Noteworthy dishes include the Pan-Fried Sea Bass Fillets served with sauté garlic spinach, jersey royals and caper lemon butter sauce; the Ricotta and Spinach Cannelloni with sun blushed Tomatoes, fresh basil and parmesan gratin; and Hemingway’s 21-Days Matured Sirloin Steak served with mushroom, mustard and brandy cream Sauce and hand cut chunky chips. As you would expect in any fine Italian restaurant, there are also a selection of delicious homemade pastas, risottos and pizzas. An express menu is available through the day for those who are after a tasty Italian lunch, and a children’s menu is also on hand for the younger guests.
Salute at The White Swan in Rothwell, Leeds is a must-visit restaurant if you want a faultless Italian meal. With a lively dining room and a private function room, this venue will suit any occasion, large or small.
