Festive lunch, very good value and tasty too. Great customer service, however the manor is looking tired.

Excellent Service , great food! Only let down was the fact that we booked at a £16.50 two course but probably because it was Mothers Day it ended as £19. Would go again!

This was my first visit to this restaurant and was surprised at the quality and service that was given, from front-of-house to food presentation. I will be definitely visiting again. 3 courses of sublime food for £18 - I would be daft not too!

We say…
Sage Restaurant is housed within the highly acclaimed Donnington Manor Hotel and is well-known for its excellent and reasonably priced menu. Situated in Castle Donnington and easily accessible off Junction 24 off the M1 it is the ideal restaurant to host a special occasion at if you need to gather people from far and wide.
The manor dates back to the 18th century and whilst it maintains a suitably historic frontage, inside you will discover a chic and up-to-date venue that offers all of the amenities required by diners, visitors and guests. Diners are encouraged to enjoy a pre-meal drink in the lavishly decorated bar before going through to the beautifully decorated Sage restaurant. The restaurant and manor boast impressive traditional décor that features chandelier lighting and a stunning original fireplace in the dining room, as well as the dramatic curved sash windows and ornate ceiling details. These combine perfectly with the opulent wallpaper and furnishings chosen to enhance and enrich the elegant and stylish dining room. The staff pride themselves on offering the warmest welcome for miles around and you will enter, and leave, feeling well-looked after.
The AA rosette-awarded venue has been serving delicious food for years and Jeff Cadden is a highly-skilled and talented chef who is a true master of his trade. Using the very best of local produce, he creates dishes that are both wholesome and refined. With dishes such as a juicy pan-fried rib eye steak served with parmesan mash and a confit of roasted shallots; roast rump of lamb with leek dauphinoise, puy lentils and a red wine jus; and grilled fillet of hake with a chorizo and butterbean casserole with basil oil on the menu, you are truly spoilt for choice. Despite its AA rosette, the food is very reasonably priced, with the lunch menu being exceptional value for money.
Sage restaurant is perfect for special occasions. Due to its convenient location just off the motorway, it is ideal for hosting family get-togethers and reunions. The superb British menu will tantalise your taste buds whilst leaving your pocket relatively unscathed.
