Great meal, great service and a general great evening. The Manager Rana couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend.

Great evening at the Saffron! We went for their midweek £10 per person banquet menu and it was really good. The staff there are very attentive and always greet you with a smile. Highly recommended, Julie

    Great food.

It is as advertised all very good.

We had a varied selection between us all and it was all good, value with the Wednesday banquet was fantastic. Drink is a bit pricey, 4.95 for a soda water and lime.

Excellent food and service. Great value.

The food and service were excellent. We had the banquet which is really good value for money.

We decided that we would like an Indian meal before going to the derogate theate, We were greeted warmly by a very friendly member of staff&were seated at a nice table, We had a lovely meal the poppadoms&dips were delicious, the main course was excellent, the flavours were exquisite, The sauces were perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant, only 5 mins walk from derogate theatre.

The decor suggests a much better restaurant than this turned out to be. The first clue was cold, stale poppadoms - who's too cheap to serve fresh poppadoms? The food was adequate but nothing special - padded out with a lot of onions to make portions appear more generous than they were. Service wasn't good - don't be clearing the tables before we've finished eating or we feel like we're intruding. Oh, and the till bleating it's robotic "You've got a new order" every time an online takeaway order was received got very tiresome very quickly.

The welcome at the door was excellent really making you feel comfortable. Service for food and drink was the same. Will be booking again would recommend Saffron restaurant to anybody.

    Very nice food

Very good value for money....excellent portion sizes for banquet

Excellent food and value for money. Will definitely go again

Excellent food and value for money. Will definitely go again

Friendly, staff, attentive. Food tasty and generous portions came hot and quick from time of ordering. Will definitely recommend.

    Fantastic meal, would highly recommend.

Food was good not brilliant bit pricey but would go again. Service was good very nice and clean, attention to detail very good.

    Excellent first meal, would recommend.

Very impressed with the whole experience, will return!

    All good at Saffron

    Great value for money

Brilliant food and service - can't fault the place!

    Very good meal

The food was tasty and a good variety of vegetarian dishes. Service was impeccable and friendly, nothing was too much. The environment encouraged people to develop their own ambiance. Overall very good experience at Saffron and definitely would go again.

Another excellent meal. The Tandoori chicken and chicken Tikka were excellent. Our friend was also very impressed with his Chicken Jalfrazi and will come again. Spotlessly clean restaurant as ever and now with decent coffee.

Always have excellent food here, very good value for money!

Excellent meal and very good service. Highly recommend!

Lovely meal and fantastic service as always!

Excellent food, good, polite service. Would thoroughly recommend!

I seem to write a lot of reviews for this restaurant and would like to stress my husband and I are frequent visitors when we go to the theatre or Errol Flynn cinema! I am not related to the manager, or any of his staff! Excellent meal as usual, at a good price. The coffee is now very good and they have solved the mysteries of the cappuccino at long last! We were delighted to see KADIR back again. He is a breath of fresh air and always has a winning smile... and I'm not related to him either!!

The staff were extremely helpful when we were late due to bad traffic and on a tight schedule for the theatre. The food was ready quickly on our arrival. We took two new friends with us who were very impressed and I'm sure they will go again.

The tandoori dishes were up to scratch again, after our disappointment last time. The restaurant has had some refurbishment, new carpet (although I hadn't seen anything wrong with the one before) and yippee! a decent coffee machine! I think the waiters may need a bit more practice on it, to get the coffee just so but it is going in the right direction. The Expresso was good but the Cappuccino a bit thin. There is no Americano at the moment but I am sure these will small things will be corrected soon. The restaurant was spotlessly clean as ever.

Good food at Saffron but not quite up to the usual excellent standard as the Chicken Tandoori and Tikka were a bit dry and we don't think it had been freshly cooked. The Spinach and Potato side dish was very good though. Spotlessly clean, as ever, and pleasant service. It's very good to know that the owner intends installing a new coffee machine in the New Year!

5 stars all round. Very good quality, service and value for money. Highly recommended. Will definitely be returning.

Everything very good indeed, once again. The chicken tikka and tandoori are delicious, freshly cooked and with good herbs. The chicken was succulent and tasty. Friendly waiters. Didn't have coffee, so no negative comments about it's quality this time!

An excellent restaurant in so many ways: very good food, good value, spotlessly clean, pleasant staff, attentive service....but we do wish they served decent coffee.

Once again we enjoyed a great meal in this immaculately kept restaurant. My chicken tikka was succulent and full of flavour Saag panir also good. The lamb biryani also very flavoursome: a good meal in every respect with very attentive service. They now need to invest in a decent coffee-making machine which does cappuccinos and decaff!

We returned to this restaurant last night before going to the Errol Flynn cinema and the food was as good as ever. We were welcomed back by the waiters and the meal was as good as ever. We find the tandoori dishes particularly good. The restaurant is immaculately clean and has one of the best toilets of any restaurant in Northampton! They really should look at serving tea and decent coffee, as this is the only negative comment I have. We will be back!!

as usual the food and service and service was excellent, unfortunately my booking hadn't been confirmed with the restaurant, but they still managed to seat us and saved the day. top marks.

We brought three new friends to eat here and had another EXCELLENT meal. The service was good and friendly and the restaurant spotlessly clean.

We eat here regularly now as we are very impressed with the food, environment and cleanliness in this restaurant. However, some of the staff could do with some customer training as they can appear abrupt and rude. They need to take a leaf out of small Ali's book. Customers need to be greeted by a smile and made to feel welcome rather than grunted at and made to feel as if they should not be there. We took along 5 new people who were also impressed with the positive qualities but commented strongly on the negative ones....their experience was compared to Fawlty Towers. This is such a shame as it spoils an, otherwise, excellent restaurant.

We enjoyed our mid week banquet a lot. Service was good as usual and the food very tasty. However, I think it should be made to customers that, although it states that the meal is a starter, plus main, plus 1 side between 2, plus rice and/or nan and coffee, you can ONLY claim a free coffee if you have it at the end of the meal, and NOT at the beginning. I was surprised that I was charged for the coffee I had at the start and queried it when I saw it on the bill. In fact, I did not have to pay for it in the end after I argued about the fact it did not say WHEN I had to have the coffee. Apparently, the assumption is that one has it at the end of the meal. However, as the customer, I wish to have my coffee, when I want it. I think it is a petty and tiresome ruling in an, otherwise, good restaurant.

I went to Saffron on a Saturday evening as part of two couples. While the men parked the car myself and my sister in law ordered some drinks and the staff seemed put out that we didn't want to order food until the men had joined us. The food was pretty non-de-script and I had to ask for serving spoons for the food in dishes. Once we had finished the main course the top table cloth was whipped away before we were asked if we wanted anything else. The only saving grace of the evening was that it was an OK price.

Another excellent meal in very pleasant surroundings. Good service and spotlessly clean. Very much enjoyed it.

We enjoyed greatly our pre-theatre meal. It was extremely tasty and freshly cooked. The service was good and the staff very welcoming. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, including the toilets.

Lovely evening had by all, arrived early no problem, seated straight away. The food was delicious & the service very good, a very nice light-hearted atmosphere, with the waiters making the night. Really enjoyed it.

Came to Saffron with a few work friends and was very impressed. Huge selection of dishes and great flavours. I had the tandoori chicken as it's one I usually go for and it was especially good here. Will be coming back again soon!

Great food, great service. Saffron never disappoints, a very satisfied regular customer here.

Terrific meal yet again from Saffron!

I had heard some good reviews of Saffron and am a big fan of Indian cuisine, so was eager to check it out. I wasn't disappointed, both the food and the staff were wonderful. I went with my family and we all left feeling satisfied. The prices are reasonable too.

As a huge lover of Indian food, I was keen to discover whether or not Saffron would satisfy my taste buds. I have to say I was impressed. They got the food just right. My Hariyo Khursani chicken melted in my mouth. Very tasty!

Meal was really good. There was 6 of us & service was very quick.

A very enjoyable experience. Will come again.

Excellent. Would go again and would recommend it to friends.

Food was very good as was the service. Will definately book here again.

This was a meal booked as a birthday treat following on from our enjoyable meal on valentines night. On arrival they seemed confused with my booking and started to place us at the bottom of the restaurant close to the toilets and kitchen entrance... Didn't want to sit there and aft a couple of minutes was shown to a more comfortable table near the front. The order was taken fairly quickly, however two starters never arrived and when I questioned it, they said they'd sort them out, however two of our other guests had already had theirs!!! The excuse, lack of staff, then chef couldn't read the order... Did anyone think to come and ask us if he couldn't read it? The answer... No! The main meal came out all together and the food was good, however this experience has put a cloud on our last visit so will look for another restaurant in the future... It's a shame because the food is definitely good, their timing and informing customers of delays... Very poor.

Staff friendly and accommodating, slightly expensive to what we are used to, although would go again.

This was, without doubt, one of the best dining experiences we've had. Everything was perfect and the food was delicious.

    Fantastic meal. Perfect!

Lovely evening with great food and good staff. Felt a bit overwhelmed at times because staff continued to check our meal was ok but then again better to have them concerned we were happy than not give a hoot. Full meal for two a glass of lager and a bottle of wine cost £53.00 so happy with value. I would recommend this place definitely.

Superb! The food was excellent and to be recommended, but the customer service we received even outshone that! Due to an very busy evening, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Whilst we were waiting we were offered drinks and apologised to, for the delay.

The waiter who took our order was very friendly and chatty.
The waiter who brought our food to the table was also a nice guy, and also had time for a smile and a few words.
At the end of our meal the manager came over, apologised once more for the initial delay, and offered us drinks on the house.

Overall, we had a very pleasant dining experience, with excellent customer service, and we will be sure to return again when we are in the area.

Great food and location - especially for the theatre, often use their take-away service too.

Excellent, will definately go again shortly.

Great value on a Wednesday night £8.95. I had the mango chicken which was excellent if slightly bland. It was busy probably due to it being the special offer night but the service was excellent. Will definitely go again.

We had not eaten Indian food for many years, and had forgotten all we knew. The staff here were extremely helpful and we made a great selection - thoroughly enjoyable. Will go again.

Fantastic meal, went for the option for 4 people and was a feast and a bargain at that price. Service was very friendly and welcoming
