Surrounded by the historical heritage of the Town Hall, Leeds City Museum and Carriageworks Theatre, Millenium Square is the cultural heart of Leeds city centre. The square is a focal point for events in Leeds, hosting celebrations such as Leeds Pride, the Leeds Half Marathon and live outdoor music concerts by big bands such as Kaiser Chiefs and Snow Patrol. From November to December Millenium Square hosts one of the UK's largest and most established German Christmas markets, and from early January the square is transformed into a unique winter wonderland with the UK's largest temporary open-air ice rink.
In the summer months the square undergoes a seaside makeover, complete with sand, deck chairs and fairground rides. BBC Big Screen regularly showcases major events including Wimbledon, the football World Cups and opera and ballet performances, and the numerous bars and restaurants located in the square provide an ideal opportunity to take a break from the bustle of the city.
Millennium Square is located at junction four of the city centre loop, just a ten minute drive from the M1 and M62. Metered street parking can be found just round the corner on Cookridge Street, and other car parks are located at The Light and Rose Bowl, just a five minute walk from the Square.
With extensive outdoor seating and a glazed heated courtyard area, The Electric Press offers a fantastic selection of restaurants near Millenium Square from cuisines to suit all taste buds. The rest of the city centre is just a few minutes walk away, offering everything you can imagine.
