A truly amazing dining experience, from entering to leaving, it was all fantastic. The dining room was lovely and candlelit and has a real atmosphere about it. The food was exquisite and service was wonderful. A real treat for my partners birthday and she admitted it was the best meal she had ever had the pleasure on eating! Thank you very much for making it such a perfect evening. AC

We say…

No more than a two minute walk from the train station is Candlestick’s Hotel. This venue is situated in the centre of Stamford and is easily accessible for visitors and locals alike. The family-run hotel is home to the warm and cosy Candlesticks restaurant that serves a mixture of English and European dishes.

When dining at Candlesticks Restaurant, guests benefit from two-floor restaurant, with the ground floor able to seat up to 24 and the larger, but still ambient, cellar dining room that is suitable for up to 50. Both dining rooms are softly lit, with candlelight being the dominant light source, which creates a romantic, intimate and welcoming venue.

The family pride themselves on using the finest local Lincolnshire produce as well as utilising specially sourced ingredients from Madeira and Portugal. The restaurant serves both British and European classic dishes but the service remains strictly a British affair with silver service making every meal special. The menu is changed seasonally to ensure that the freshest ingredients possible are used. From the menu, when available, diners are treated to dishes such as the Pate Maison; a home-made pate of selected livers, herbs, wine and brandy and the Potage de Gibier; a traditional game soup flavoured with herbs and spices. For mains diners should seek the delicious Boeuf Stroganoff; tender pieces of beef cooked in an onion, brandy, mushroom, paprika, herbs and cream served with rice or the Cote de Agneau Romarin; roast rack of lamb with rosemary and a red wine sauce.

If you are looking for a location to enjoy a romantic meal or a special occasion, Candlesticks restaurant comes highly recommended. The atmosphere, food and staff create the perfect backdrop for a meal to remember.
