We went in a big group of 12 on a Saturday night and had a fabulous time. The food is superb, though if I had to be picky some of the dishes are a little on the small side, the service is attentive without being obtrusive and the furnishings and decor makes it a lovely place to spend a night. Will be going again.

We say…

Red Chilli is a Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Leeds city centre on Great George Street, adjacent to the Cathedral and in close proximity to other popular venues including The Courtyard, Brio Pizzeria and Casa Mia Millenium. It is situated within an area of Leeds that is rapidly developing a reputation as the place to visit is you’re looking to drink and dine.

As you walk through the restaurant, you immediately know you are in a Chinese restaurant. The dominant colours are red and black which is interjected with dashes of gold and silver in the form of Japanese calligraphy on the walls. Ornate, carved wall panels and thick bamboo stems line the walls and the overall feel is luxurious, edgy and contemporary. There are black dividers separating the dining areas off in to separate sections making the open plan dining room a comfortable dining experience for couples and large groups.

The food is exquisitely presented and each dish has had real care and attention paid to it from start to finish. On the menu you will find something a bit different to your usual Chow Mein or Foo Yung dishes. Red Chilli showcases authentic Chinese dishes and whilst you will still find favourites such as the Crispy Aromatic Duck and Prawn Toast other less well known dishes such as the Spicy Hot Poached Beef and the pan fried sea bass with garlic, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and minced pork take centre stage. The menu is extensive and covers everything from duck, beef, seafood, vegetarian, chicken, pork and even frogs legs, so diners are sure to find a dish that they will love.

Red Chilli also have a selection of fantastic value set meals available at lunchtime and in the evening which feature some of the restaurants most popular dishes. Red Chilli is worth a visit if you are looking for delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine in a lively, well decorated environment.
