Just North of Leeds city centre is the award-winning Indian restaurant, Raja’s Restaurant. This restaurant is ideal if you want to head to somewhere quieter after a hectic day at work or running errands in the city centre, as it’s the perfect place to relax with some great food.
It’s no surprise that Raja’s has been featured on many lists of the best Indian restaurants, including being recommended by the Which? food guide and placing in the top 10 Indian restaurants in the UK by the Sunday Times, as their passion for great food and service has proved a hit with whoever dines with the restaurant.
Inside, you’ll find a relaxed, traditional space filled with quirky personal touches where the food can really shine. There are a variety of table options, whether you’re an intimate two person table or a rowdy 20 seat affair, Raja’s will always cater for you.
The menu is the main emphasis for everyone at Raja’s, as the award-winning original recipes and perfectly executed traditional dishes will always leave diners satisfied. To start, go for one of their famous onion bahjis and pick at the fresh naan breads cooked in the authentic tandoori oven – the perfect, time-honoured way to seal in moisture to meat dishes and make sure everything is packed full of spices and flavour. You’ll be spoilt for choice at Raja’s, but we’d especially recommend everything on the Raja’s Special menu, as the dishes will have the great Indian flavour you’d expect while still having a contemporary, tasty twist. We love the Samundari of a stock pot cooked chicken, as well as the famous Handi Gosht, a pot-roasted tender lamb curry. If you have space, experiment with the delicious Kulfi dessert in pistachio or mango, or just relax with a beer or Irish coffee while your food goes down.
If you’re looking for a failsafe Indian restaurant with a great ambience, then Leed’s favourite Raja’s Restaurant will exceed your expectations and have you wanting to become a regular after just a few minutes inside.
