We say…

Situated just a mile from Towcester race course and three miles from the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit lies the Plough Inn in Shutlanger, Northamptonshire. This family run establishment has become a firm favourite with locals since it first opened and with Toni Duffy, or Mrs D as she is affectionately known, at the helm for over 20 years, it looks to stay that way for years to come.

Specialising in fresh seafood, The Plough has a quaint restaurant to the rear of the venue that seats approximately 40 people. The décor is hugely influenced by artefacts from Cornwall, the place that they source their fish from. The wood-clad walls and polished floors combined with the wooden tables and chairs gives a seaside feel, particularly when combined with the whitewashed paint effects.

The seafood menu on offer was inspired when a family friend brought a box of fresh fish to The Plough to experiment with many years ago. This began an enduring relationship with the original supplier, who couriers the freshest catch from Looe direct to the kitchen at The Plough. Ouse specialities include Monkfish and scallops, Roast swordfish and a fantastic seafood platter, packed with prawns, mussels, smoked salmon, king prawns and blanchbait. The Plough offers a unique dining experience that is perfect for couples and larger parties. It offers classic flavours without pretence, allowing diners to relax and enjoy eating at their own pace.

The Plough is a friendly local venue that has received 19 out of 20 stars in the local food paper, the Chronicle and Echo, a rare accolade indeed.
