Four of us ate Friday lunch and 3 of us chose the battered cod with chips whilst the other had sea bass (fish of the day)? The cod was superb, absolutely delicious and the sea bass too was cooked well but could have been hotter. We opted out of the dessert course as main course portions had been quite large. The restaurant itself is decorated in keeping with the surrounding countryside and has a lovely ambience. Service was polite and prompt. We all would come back again in the future and we're well impressed.

Quite disappointing on the whole, I've been here a few times and always had a good meal and good service. Sod's law that you take a group of friends and have such a bad time!
The 6 of us all had different salads but it took over an hour and half to get them, that was only because we had to remind them! Two of the Caesar salads had no sauce, I had feta salad with no feta. The amount of time we had to wait no one came back to us and asked if we needed a drink. Really poor effort! The redemption of all of this was after complaining, we did get the meal for free. So thank you very much Red Lion for that. I will go back as I'm sure it was a one off and never had this problem before.

A good day out the food very good all in all great. The service so good too!

The Peak Edge Hotel at The Red Lion offers a lovely setting for Sunday lunch: great food and reasonable service (only "reasonable" because our roast took a long time as we didn't have a starter). Give it a try!

We were visiting relatives in Chesterfield and decided to book a table at the Peak Edge restaurant as we'd heard very positive reviews. It certainly did not disappoint - the food was beautifully cooked and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Would definitely return for another delicious dinner in the near future!
