Had the two mains for £8 offer on a Wednesday and the food was fab. I had the Guinness beer battered fish and chips and my partner had the Irish stew. Both were delicious and such good value for money! O'Neill's is only a recent additional to Northampton but I can see it becoming a firm favourite. The waitresses were lovely and the atmosphere, even on a Wednesday evening was lively and welcoming. Looking forwards to our first live music night there in a week.

We say…

O’Neill’s Irish Bar and Grill in Northampton town centre is a lively venue that celebrates everything Irish. Located on The Drapery just opposite the Parish Church of All Saints, this establishment is right in the heart of the historic old market in Northampton and benefits from being close to the popular Grosvenor shopping arcade.

O’Neill’s offers warm Irish hospitality to every one of its guests and the venue is bright and airy in the day time, warm and cosy in the evenings. You will always be welcomed with a smile and a cold beer at O’Neill’s and it is perfect for a breakfast to prepare you for the day, a relaxing lunch or a lingering evening meal. The venue frequently hosts live music nights that are incredibly popular and attract guests from across the region.

The food on offer has an Irish twist and is packed with homely ingredients to create hearty, warming dishes. The main menu features starters such as Chicken Liver and Brandy pate with Ballymaloe tomato relish and ciabatta, Irish Onion Soup with a cheese crouton and crunchy Beer Battered Mushrooms. The mains are where Ireland really shines through in O’Neill’s classic Irish Stew packed with tender pieces of lamb with carrots and swede in a rich wine sauce finished with pearl barley and topped with crispy sliced potatoes and served with soda bread, and  Steak and Guinness Pie with slow-cooked beef, mushrooms and onions served with chips of colcannon, peas and gravy. As well as serving a lunch and evening menu, there is also a breakfast menu on offer with huge portions of Irish pork and leek sausages, bacon, a fried egg, flat mushroom, white pudding, beans, traditional Irish potato bread and a grilled tomato.

O’Neill’s Irish bar and grill in Northampton is a truly wonderful venue, packed with friendly faces and superb service. After dining you will more than likely find yourselves staying for hours, soaking up the atmosphere and unwinding.
