We say…
Healthy, fun and sophisticated Indian street food in Hockley.
You will almost certainly try something for the first time when you visit Mowgli and you may even end up sitting on giant wooden swings!
This fun, experiential restaurant is walk-in only and serves Indian street food inspired by the snacks and stacked tiffin lunchboxes traditionally enjoyed by India's railroad workers.
Owner Nisha Katona is on a mission to break the ‘curry stereotype’ and show that everyday Indian cuisine is in fact very healthy and often vegan.
The fries here are seasoned with spiced treacle and tamarind, crisp bread puffs come filled with chickpeas, spiced yoghurt, tamarind and coriander and chicken and potato curry is served inside a hollowed loaf of bread.
These are just some of the original flavours to explore as small plates at Mowgli - ideal for sharing with friends.
You'll spot this lively restaurant easily from its pastel pink exterior on Carlton Street, the main pedestrianised route through Hockley in Nottingham city centre.
