As ever a fabulous meal at Mogal-E-Azam. The food is always brilliant here and the portion sizes are very generous!
-
Andy Slater –
Visited here for a pre-gig meal with my partner last night, although it was the first time we'd been for a good number of years, I'm happy to say that the service and food were as great as we remembered! Glad to see it's still really good. We will be back again (just sooner rather than later this time).

We arrived 15 minutes early and got a very friendly welcome, the waiter showed us to our table, we started looking through the menu and he recommended a couple of dishes which we hadn't tried before my girlfriend had chicken tikka kallen and I had genghis khan's masala which was absolutely lovely and I would recommend to my friends we will definitely go again.

We did the pre theatre menu and it was excellent, generous tasty portions, we couldn’t finish it all. Staff were friendly and efficient. We would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be going back.

We booked a pre theatre meal for £11.95. It was very good quality and plenty of food. Although there wasn't a lot of choice, there was enough. We had poppadoms, starters, curry with rice and nan bread. Then we had a sorbet to finish. Very friendly and polite staff. Very convenient to theatre, as only across the road. Well worth a visit.

Colin Nichols –
Excellent value pre-theatre meal. Basic set menu, but got most peoples favourites on, fine if only the start to the night not the main event. Kingfisher on draught.

This was meal for 10 lads and they catered very well for the group, service was prompt and friendly. The food was ok but not up to the standard of Mem Saab where I eat regularly.

Once again, an excellent evening at Mogal-El-Azam. It was my daughter's birthday and the restaurant made it a really special occasion and even provided a birthday cake with a candle for her to blow out. Well done once again!

A Murray –
The food was disappointing as it was full of peppers and not enough tender meat. Also the waiting staff were too attentive and 3 stood at the side of the table which made us feel uncomfortable.

Went on a stag night with 13 other guys and just wanted a quick curry as we had to be out after 1 hour. Excellent food, excellent service well looked after and all in just over 1 hour look forward to going back when I have more time.

Paul Rowbotham –
Personally, I can't fault this restaurant. It maintains the high standards it has set down the years.
The food was excellent and plentiful and the service was attentive without being overpowering. The meal was good value and the Go Dine discount helped to lower the price. The restaurant still retains the traditional, authentic charm. -

I visited Mogal e Azam following many reviews and recommendations and I must say, from the start, the staff was very inviting and friendly. I booked the meal for ten of us and they were very accommodating. Wine flowing nicely, food was great and tasty and was not swimming in grease like other Indian restaurants previously been to. Food presented to our plates very well and all food came out hot. Only one problem with a meal is that one dish came with nuts after requesting no nuts. This was swiftly dealt with. Staff were having a laugh and joke and nothing appeared to be too much bother for them to do anything. Second problem was with the bill. This was an easy oversight as the restaurant was busy and we had paid a deposit prior to our arrival and they forgot to deduct off bill. Again this was swiftly dealt with. Great all round meal although only downside was I was expecting the curry to be hotter than what it was and therefore found it to be mild, ambience was just right, great atmosphere and Christmas spirit. Pricing very reasonable. Bill came to about £250 for 11 of us and a lot of alcohol consumed (about 15 bottles wine). Highly recommend to anyone.

Me and my wife had a very enjoyable meal. It was a belated valentines day night out. The manager even came and spoke to us during our meal. Very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. We had 4 popadoms, pickle tray, a portion of rice between us, a main course, bacardi and coke for the wife, and I had a glass of wine. Total... £30.15

A lovely meal with excellent service. The ambience would have been better if it had been busier but it was a quiet Sunday lunchtime.

We say…
Dine like an emperor at much-loved Indian restaurant in Nottingham city centre.
Mogal E-Azam offers an experience in Indian dining which goes the extra mile.
Waiting staff dress in traditional attire and the interior of the restaurant is grandly designed to emulate that of a resplendent temple.
The team at Mogal E-Azam have been serving diners in Nottingham since 1977 and have a great reputation among locals, serving all of the classics as well as some showstopping house specialities.
The restaurant has a private car park you can use for free if you request this in advance, although the public transport links to Mogal E-Azam could not be better, with tram and bus stops nearby.
Located right next to the Theatre Royal and Royal Centre, Mogal E-Azam is easy to find.
