We say…

The small market town of Bakewell is one of the gems of the Peak District. With its beautiful limestone architecture and proximity to popular attractions Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, the town is often busy with tourists. A short walk from the town centre is The Manners, a traditional pub with a modern twist.

Landlord Bryan Moran has applied his 20 years of restaurant experience to the pub, retaining its traditional feel but also providing it with a fun, modern edge using unique furnishings and décor. The Manners boasts a large outdoor seating area and is home to Bakewell’s only lawn beer garden, with an outdoor bar and children’s play area providing entertainment for all the family. The pub is therefore an excellent option for both those looking to fill up after a day enjoying the local area and for families.

The menu showcases fresh, local produce alongside home-cooked pub favourites. Signature dishes, all at reasonable prices, include the locally sourced venison in red wine sauce, home beer battered scampi tails and ‘Bakewell bangers’ with mash. During the day hot and cold sandwiches are available, along with hand cut chips, real mash and fabulous battered onion rings. Oh, and on Mondays the Pie and Pint offer cannot be missed!

The Manners in Bakewell is a fantastic pub combining a stylish, modern atmosphere with classic pub food and the very best of local Peak District produce. A must visit for anyone out exploring the wonderful national park countryside.
