We say…

L’Oliveto is an authentic Italian restaurant located just five minutes away from Rutland’s famed Normanton Church. It sits on the South Shore of Edith Weston village, making it the perfect base from which to explore Europe’s largest man-made reservoir.

L’Oliveto has developed an excellent reputation in the local area and won the Best European Restaurant accolade at the East Midlands Food and Drink Awards 2012. Its gifted head chef has almost 30-years’ experience in the culinary industry and has even been blessed by the Pope! The proximity of the Normanton Church Museum makes the restaurant ideal for a relaxing meal after a visit to Rutland’s most recognised landmark.

The restaurant consists of a main dining room, 2 balconies, a private dining area and an outdoor space for al fresco dining. The décor is fresh and airy, with large open windows that allow guests to soak up the extravagant views of Rutland Water while tucking into tasty Italian and Mediterranean fare.

Serving one of the most popular cuisines in the world, L’Oliveto achieves success by combining quality ingredients with elaborate preparation. Whether you want a light meal or full four courses, you will be assured an exceptional meal from antipasto right through to dessert. The dedicated staff team encourage you to begin your meal with their signature starter; Antipasto D’Oliveto, which combines a selection of their most popular antipasti dishes  from regions of Italy. For your main course, there is a huge range of dishes to choose from such as special egg hin pasta with half lobster in a brandy sauce; and pan-friend breast of chicken with white wine, mushrooms and cream sauce, garnished with asparagus. As you would expect, the restaurant also offers an assorted collection of pastas and pizzas that are made from scratch, freshly on the premises. To complete your meal, the restaurant offers a delectable range of desserts that include a classic homemade crème brule and a traditional panna cotta made from fresh cream coated in caramel sauce.

L’Oliveto is an impressive venue that unites wholesome family recipes with modern innovative Italian cuisine. Don’t just take our word for it! Get down to the restaurant and try the food for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
