We say…

Situated on Glossop Road just 5 minutes’ West of the city centre, Loch Fyne in Sheffield opened its doors in 2008 to critical acclaim and fantastic reviews from residents and visitors alike. You may have noticed other branches of Loch Fyne dotted around the country but the Sheffield restaurants is easily one of the most beautiful; set within the old Hanrahan’s building which boasts exposed brickwork, wooden floors, sash windows and buckets of character.

Loch Fyne prides itself on serving the freshest seafood and the Sheffield branch is no different; guaranteeing its customers that the fish are caught humanely are sustainably sourced at all times. You can expect to find some of the UK’s best seafood here with everything from cockles and mussels to lobster and sea bream. You can even replicate your dinner by taking home some of the fresh fish available at the in-restaurant fish counter!

The menu changes seasonally, so in the winter months you can expect to find warm and hearty dishes such as whisky smoked salmon and Loch Fyne® Salmon & Prawn Fish Soup for starters. The Loch Fyne oysters on ice are also an incredibly popular choice with those who are feeling indulgent. For mains you can expect dishes such as Loch Fyne moules frites, pan-friend mussels in a cream, white wine and shallot sauce served with fries and crusty bread; lobster frites, a whole-baked Canadian lobster with garlic butter, French fries and mayonnaise; and 21-day aged British rib eye steak, chargrilled to your liking and served with crispy twice-cooked chips, garlic mushrooms and firey peppercorn sauce. With a superb range of fish dishes as well as a smaller selection of meat and vegetarian options, there is no need to avoid this wonderful restaurant if you or some of your party aren’t fish lovers.

With incredibly well-trained staff and headed by a knowledgeable restaurant manager, Loch Fyne Sheffield will be serving its beautiful fruits de mar for years to come. It’s perfect for a special occasion or if you are just looking for a delicious fish supper.

This meal at Loch Fyne was booked for my wife's birthday, we had great time and a fantastic meal. The restaurant itself is lovely, it is spotlessly clean and has an authentic feel too. The staff were all great, very attentive, even though the restaurant was busy. It's not the cheapest of places, but it was worth it!

Excellent food at Loch Fyne but unfortunately quite slow service and there were errors on the bill amount at the end of the day as the reduction wasn't correctly worked out.

    Overall:

Was very expensive and not worth the money. A meal for two with drinks costing over £90 and I was still hungry when I left! The food itself was nice, but measly portions. I'd expect a mixed fish grill to have more than 8 mouthfuls of fish on it! Service was very good though to say how busy the restaurant was.

    Overall:

A friend and I attended Loch Fyne for lunch on Wednesday 5th March. We chose items from the set menu, 2 courses for £10.75 and added some bread and olives at the beginning and a dessert at the end. With drinks the bill came to just over £20 per head, which was fine given the quality and range of items on offer. I've dined at Loch Fyne on two occasions now and once again the service was excellent; friendly rather than grovelling, with the good sense to leave their guests space and time to consider all they have to offer. I look forward to going again when the temperature warms up a tad, as I've found the restaurant pretty chilly - particularly the loos downstairs - on both occasions I've visited.

    Overall:

We booked at Loch Fyne, Sheffield for Sunday lunch, 15th February. Being the day after a very busy Valentine's Day evening meant that certain things were not on the menu, but there was still a wide choice and the food was well presented and impressive. It was a special occasion for us and we were looking for quality food in comfortable surroundings. Sea food appeals to me, but the meat dishes were very good too. and my starter, cappaccio of venison was a delight, and well presented. Unfortunately, we had some issues with my 7 year old daughter's dish. She is fond of prawns but not spicy sauces and dressings so we struggled to obtain any she'd eat without a fuss. The matter was eventually resolved, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A balloon proved adequate compensation. We sat near a window at the back of the restaurant, which probably looks nicer at night with the lights of the city in the distance. We will certainly visit Loch Fyne again, because of the quality of the sea food, the skill of the cooking, and the friendly staff, but we'll probably aim for seats in the main part of the restaurant next time where it was significantly warmer. It was cold at our table, and the toilets downstairs were freezing! I am sure if your birthday falls in warmer months - you'll have a great time at Loch Fyne.

    Overall:

Had a lovely evening at Loch Fyne in Sheffield... Can't really fault it. I chose from the very good value set menu and enjoyed each and every course. My partner ate from the main menu, only niggle was the high price for small portions but could not say anything bad about the quality and presentation. The waiter who served us was very professional and service was quick but friendly. Will most definitely be going back soon.

I have used Loch Fyne for years now in many parts of the UK and have always enjoyed the food, the service and their readiness to make changes to dishes at your request. I have been to the Sheffield restaurant several times (this my most local one) and will continue to go back, it is always a pleasure.

    Overall:

I love Loch Fyne! The biggest problem for me is deciding what not to have! Decided to visit for a treat with my husband, we had oysters to start, I had the seafood grill and my hubby had hake (he wanted halibut but they had run out). For dessert I had cheesecake and hubby had sticky toffee pud. The food was great, the service was great and we even discovered a new wine which went perfectly with our fish. Top marks all round!

This was a lovely place, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Easy parking also which is a bonus in the centre of Sheffield. The set menu is excellent value and was the only place I could find in Sheffield who did one on a Saturday night. Give it a go! I'd definitely go back to Loch Fyne in Sheffield.

My favourite place in Sheffield to eat seafood. The staff at Loch Fyne are always so good to us! This time I had oysters to start, and fish of the day (halibut) to follow. Both were fresh, filling and fabulous! I'd recommend Loch Fyne to anyone!

This was my first visit to Loch Fyne in Sheffield. I've been to several Loch Fyne's in other areas but this was my favourite to date. The staff were excellent and the interior was really attractive. All main courses in our group were cooked to perfection and I couldn't speak highly enough of my dessert! All in all I would love to go back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a good seafood restaurant in Sheffield.

The food was good and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The really slow service let it down, ie the length of time it took for our food to arrive. We have experienced this problem before and were hoping that by now they would have got their act together.

    Overall:

The special starter of scallops with garlic butter was delicious and perfectly cooked (not rubbery) but may have benefited from a touch more garlic. Lobster bisque was excellent. Main course of pan fried sea bass with sweet chilli and spring greens was again cooked to perfection. Monkfish and chorizo risotto was slightly under seasoned, but easily fixed with a grind of pepper. Would have liked a couple of extra chunks of the very tender monkfish. Desserts of custard tart and orange and chocolate tart were both of an excellent standard.Chocolate tart in particular was rich without being overpowering, nicely offset by berry coulis and compote. Very friendly service from busy yet competent staff.
