We have been several times over the past few years and never been disappointed. Our latest visit this last week was no exception. Brilliant.

Fantastic meal and a great place to go! Really enjoyed it.

Second time visiting. I absolutely love this place. Highly recommended!

Having been to lobster pot before myself and partner expected to receive the same standards regarding food & service which was good however having arrived at lobster pot for our meal out, though greeted warmly was not offered a drink first off?? Having placed our meal order we ordered 2 starters being prawn cocktail salad and mains monkfish and green curry sauce, which rather nice it was more white in colour? The monkfish was rather small more like a slither off a fillet very disappointing, fish tasteless and rubbery in texture?? not at all what we expected for a cost of £15.95 each. You had to order rice & extras to go with the meal we felt if u order a curry dish rice should be part of a dish. All mains u had to order extras to complement actual meals, and for a total of £60, it is felt not value for what you actually get very disappointed with the experience the second time around rest assured there won't be a third trip to lobster pot our nite really spoilt from the meal disappointment. I'm afraid lobster pot need to up their game much more regarding the menu as it seems more focus on platters than rest of menu dishes.

The food was great and the staff were great. We had to wait a long time though before food was served. Got there by 8 pm then food was served a little after 8:30 pm. Nevertheless! The food was exquisite. I will definitely come back again.

The usual good service and quality food.

    very nice food

I booked a table for myself and my partner as a birthday treat for him. I can't believe we haven't been before now!! The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, decorated with lots of fairy lights, and the food was gorgeous. The staff were friendly and efficient which made it a lovely experience! Will definitely be booking again and also recommend to friends and family.

Excellent meal! First time we have had oysters as well which were really good. Had the Thai starter and monkfish for main both excellent. Was a full restaurant with great service and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Will be returning!

    Very enjoyable meal.

From my first experience of Lobster Pot (Nottingham) I had always felt that the food was excellent in quality and taste and the restaurant was both quaint. I still feel exactly the same way. The Service was very lovely.

We went to the Lobster pot for my partners Birthday and had a lovely evening. We tried the new crabs bites as a starter which we can only described as incredibly delicious (we'll be ordering more of these next time). As always the food is always of an exceptionally high standard and fresh. This time round we tried the grilled lobster with cheese sauce as a main and were so happy we did! The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful which makes for an extra lovely experience every time. We wont leave it too long next time to come back :). A lovely evening.

A very cosy and relaxing restaurant. Friendly staff. Absolutely great food. Went for a romantic dinner for two. Had the Lobster platter. Was fantastic. Would definitely return and certainly would recommend.

Amazing, will be going back next month, lovely staff, worth every penny!

Love this restaurant. The best place for fish in Nottingham.
Great wine and friendly service. Excellent!

Excellent service at Lobster Pot! Staff attentive, but not overbearing.

It is the best fish restaurant in Nottingham!

The calamari starter is great! Been here twice, for different occasions- family and a date. It's a bit small but the food is good

Excellent food and the staff were very attentive at Lobster Pot. Very helpful with booking time changes.

Excellent food, staff attentive. Very helpful with booking time changes.

Excellent menu at the Lobster Pot with a great choice of seafood. Will certainly dine here again!

Eaten at the Lobster Pot before and found the food to be good and have recommended the restaurant to our close friends.

nice atmosphere and friendly service, but the grilled platter overcooked.

The food was very fresh. I recommend you to order the oysters!

Second visit to this restaurant and the food was delicious again. We had the grilled lobster platter with steamed rice and it looked and tasted spectacular.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great service again. A gem!

Our waiter was very polite. My husband isn't 1 for dining out much, but he enjoyed the meal very much and we are planning on going again real soon

Service was fantastic, food was fantastic. Would reccommend to anybody. Thank you Lobster Pot

    Absolutely delicious at Lobster Pot!

1st visit, food was nice, we had crab platter for two good value, crab a little short of brown meat but oysters nice, Service was very good, and prices good £55 for 2 with 2 courses and wine

First visit to this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed, staff and food were great

Nice meal and good service at the Lobster Pot!

Service was quick and attentive! Food cooked well too.

Fantastic.. cute little restaurant, wonderful staff and the food was out of this world, the lobster was divine!

Excellent food and very friendly and efficient service.

Great food and good services. Nice items on the menu. Food was cooked perfectly.

The food was delicious at Lobster Pot and the smell of seafood emerged as you entered the restaurant. The ambience is great as well, however there was a kid screaming which made everything really loud. But there was nothing they could do for that. I was just surprised how such a good restaurant was missed off my radar before. Will definitely go again when I'm in Nottingham next time.

Lobster Pot is small but very warm and friendly. I don't have words for the food, 100% my type of food ,cooked to the perfection ,I had the lobster platter, love it is the second time I have visited the restaurant. I travel from Leicester specially to go there. Planning my next visit soon!

Good food at the Lobster Pot and pleasant staff, however I was disappointed to find the the price was not for a complete meal only the main item, even basic vegetables were an extra.

The food at the Lobster Pot (Nottingham) was excellent - and on the cheap side of reasonable!
It would be easy to overlook this restaurant as it is a little out of town, but you would be missing a treat. I had the mixed salmon starter which had 4 different types of smoked salmon - all fresh, all different, all delicious. The table shared half a dozen oysters which were fresh and refreshing and I followed with the scallops wrapped in bacon with seasonal vegetables. The scallops were beautifully cooked and the bacon was salty and perfect. We could not fault the food, or the service!

    Very Good!

Amazing food, really friendly people, and great value for money at the Lobster Pot.

I had a lovely experience, the food was fresh and delicious and very reasonable in price. I would definitely recommended Lobster Pot.

It was our first visit to Lobster Pot and was very enjoyable.
The only criticism we had was that there could have been a few more selections on the main course menu.

Only downside was they don't do prosecco or wine by the glass and didn't have any prosecco left. Food was delicious and great service.

As always good food and service.

The staff at the Lobster Pot were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The service very swift, no fuss and there was no hurrying along to vacate the table after we had finished our wonderful meal!

We had a party of 9 the service and friendliness of the pass was superb had a few hiccups but the owner was really good nothing major we were celebrating my husbands 65th birthday and really enjoyed it will be booking again soon.

Food was presented well but the was a little lacking in speed of service. However, it was good value for money!

Excellent food at the Lobster Pot! The muscles in the creamy white sauce are to die for, defo be going back again! (Yummy!)

The Lobster Pot was as good and friendly as ever!

Nice meal at the Lobster Pot with good service.

Excellent food and service at the Lobster Pot, we will be visiting them again soon!

Nice food at Lobster Pot. Genuine and friendly staff.

We visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening and they were extremely accommodating of my elderly grandparents. The food was exquisite, the service was great and we will be back soon.

A really enjoyable evening at the Lobster Pot with great food and friendly staff!

Great lunch special at the Lobster Pot! Seafood is very fresh!

Excellent food and staff at the Lobster Pot. Nice to be remembered by the management team too.

An excellent meal at the Lobster Pot with very good friendly service. Herbal teas would add to the experience.

Lovely staff and food. Don't be fooled by the plain appearance as the food is anything but. Been a few times and my favourite dish is definitely the salmon platter.

Walked in on a Thursday and were shown to our seats quickly. A small independent restaurant run by friendly staff, was a real success. We shared a large lobster and it was divine. The restaurant itself lacks a little character but the quality of food and the staff make up for that!

We say…

The Lobster Pot in Nottingham is an independently-owned and managed premier seafood restaurant with an excellent reputation. It was opened in 2001 by the current owner's father, who had previously been working as head chef in another celebrated Nottingham seafood restaurant. Situated on Mansfield Road, just up from The Nags Head pub, The Lobster Pot lies just outside of the main city centre; it's well worth the walk to visit the winner of annual AA Rosette awards from 2005-2009.

The bright blue exterior of the restaurant catches the eye of diners who, once "reeled in", enter into a light and airy dining space with authentic features. The interior décor is neutral, with whitewashed walls and wooden floors that hint at a slight nautical theme, plus potted plants that add pop of fresh, vibrant green. The modest appearance sets the stage for the star of the show: the seafood plates themselves.

The Lobster Pot prides itself on serving high-quality and varied seafood dishes from a menu that celebrates the very finest of the sea. To start, we suggest opening your meal with the traditional smoked haddock chowder or really kick things off with the spiced Thai Prawn spring rolls. The main course options are diverse, ranging from high-piled platters to tasty stir fry dishes, as well as the renowned daily specials board. Some of our favourites are: Baked whole sea bass in an oyster and fresh ginger sauce and whole brown crab served with homemade seafood sauce and mussels steamed in lemon grass, chilli and basil. Oysters and mussels are served in varying styles and quantities, a reported favourite being the battered oysters with chilli and garlic.

The Lobster pot also have meaty dishes for non seafooders- here you can find unbelievably tasty classics like deep fried chicken goujons, in a light batter served with a sweet chilli dip, or sirloin steak, grilled to taste and served with a garlic butter sauce. The final choice is the accompanying side dish: choose from salads, rice and potatoes creamed, boiled or fried. Diners at The Lobster Pot can build their own meal entirely according to their tastes and the kitchen are completely open to suggestions and requests.

The well-stocked bar is sure to provide the perfect complement to your meal, housing an extensive wine selection that spans the globe, as well as very reasonably priced beers, ciders and soft drinks. If you’re looking for a friendly, unassuming seafood restaurant, whose priority and passion is the food that they serve, The Lobster Pot should be your next port of call. Booking advised.
