Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends. The meal was good and the service was excellent! I usually eat at the Nottingham Le Mistral but unfortunately, it closed so I decided to give the Sherwood one a go. Very pleased I did, I will definitely return.

Always a treat to go to Le Mistral. Lovely food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. It's small but somehow never feels crowded due to the table layout. The staff are lovely. One of my favorite places to eat in Nottingham.

Both our starters were excellent. A little disappointed with my main of Boeuf Bourguignon which was over salted in my opinion but still a current favourite restaurant.

We were attended to in a prompt and friendly manner on arrival. The lunch menu was varied with a reasonable choice of vegetarian dishes and there were also specials available . We all had starters and Sunday roast dinners. Portion sizes were just right and the food was delicious. Our server was warm and helpful, giving us just the right amount of attention.

The head of house was brilliant and when he took us to our table he never rushed us at any point and made us both feel special
The food was beautiful as was the wine that was recommended
I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family in fact to anyone

This was our first visit to Le Mistral & won’t be our last.
My husband & I had the 3 course lunch menu for £14.95pp. The food was very tasty & fresh. We loved every course. The restaurant did get busy but the service by one man was always with a smile & he was very attentive.
We will be coming back for an evening meal next time. -
Helen Mallott –
Spent a lovely afternoon with family and friends for birthday treats for 2 of the party. Very attentive staff although very busy. Most of meals were very good apart from those who chose the fish for a main course. We pre ordered hake and on arrival we were told it was haddock. We were very disappointed with the potion size. Next time would choose pork or chicken

My son and I dined at Le Mistral, Mansfield Road, Sherwood for my birthday, it was so lovely from start to finish. I’ve often passed it but thought French hmm it’s going to be posh and expensive, how wrong was I. Such a warm welcome and they gave me a free glass of fizz as it was my birthday There was no rushing to get you out for the next customers, it was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere buy was very busy so booking is a must. Lovely menu choice, the food was delicious, hot and well presented, my desert even came with a candle! I would definitely go there again for lunch or dinner without it being a special occasion as the price was so good. Well done team, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

Always enjoy going to Le Mistral, the staff are great, we were served by a young lady, didn't catch her name but she is always friendly, chatty. The food is great at Le Mistral, we have Sunday lunch maybe 2/3 times a month. We've been to Le Mistral at Wirksworth, Derbyshire and its the same story there. Can't wait to go to Le Mistral again

-
Bella Wyremska –
We visited Le Mistral Bistro the first time and we really enjoyed, my partner choose the vegetarian menu and I choose the vegan option. Bistro do not serving a lot of vegetarian or vegan food but at least they have one option for vegans. Starters should be improved, the main was really nice, and cake-very very sweet, so maybe less sweet crumble pie with ice cream (vegan) will be better. Good selection of wine, beers. Staff is multi-international, very friendly and chatty. They work very hard to reach customers expectations what in my opinion should be appreciated by the owner. Phone line should be separated from card machine, and on hot days air con is necessary.
-
Barbara Owen –
Always enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Bistro.
The meal was good and well presented. -

Really great lunch at Le Mistral on 6th May for 12 guests. We pre- ordered our food and the timing of each course was perfect as was the cuisine! All our party had a wonderful time and we were not rushed spending some 3 hours over lunch drinks and coffee. We would definitely return!

-
Ian Elsworth –
Been before and had been very impressed. Not this time.. Given 3 stars as my parents meal was superb. Starter and main. My starter however was a chip shop fish cake which cost nearly 7 pounds. My main linguine fruits de mere was just mussels and sqiud, rings not a king prawn in sight nor tentacles. In fact I got one very tiny shrimp. I think the insult was that the meal had strips of processed fish stick. Sorry guys won't be coming back unless you improve.
-
Susy Collins –

Back to Le Mistral again for the second time in a week, with a different friend, and found all to be delightful. Lovely atmosphere. Entertaining, amusing and kind staff. Couldn't be better.
-
Kathryn Hewitt –
Think this is now my favourite restaurant. Had booked for 4 of us, and waited half and hour for two to arrive. The staff did not hassle us in any way. A gentleman arrived without his glasses, and the waitress quite happily read out the menu to him. As the other two had forgotten our lunch date, we went ahead. Every dish was delicious. The waitress was friendly and delightful. My friend's asked that we book again for our next get together.
-
Kathryn Hewitt –
Greeted and seated promptly by friendly member waiting staff, who was happy to check for answers to our questions and give us plenty of time to decide what to eat. She was attentive without being at all overbearing, and showed genuine interest in our comfort and enjoyment. All the food was delicious at Le Mistral, as was the house wine, and the fixed price lunch menu is excellent value, with a good range of choices!
-
Andrew Moran –

robert spicer –
This applies to the city centre branch too but the Mansfield Road branch is currently my very favouritist restaurant in Nottingham! The decor is attractive, comfortable and intimate and more importantly this isn't one of those "shouty" restaurants. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere but certainly isn't dead. It's possible to hold a conversation! The staff are friendly, alert, helpful and professional. The food is faultless. Beautifully cooked from prime ingredients, full of flavour and sizeable portions but not overwhelmingly huge. And all at prices comparable to good quality pub food. Wine is excellent value and for beer lovers they have REAL Budvar! What are you waiting for? Treat yourselves!
-
Rachel Tindsley –
An excellent meal at Le Mistral, great value and lovely atmosphere. Chatty and warm, but not too 'loud'.
-
Robin Short –
Not good for those of us who have to be Gluten Free. There wasn't a single starter for us. For my main course I have no confidence the waitress knew whether or no the sauce was GF.
-
Zara Chamberlin –
A wonderful meal, we will go back again and again!!

-
Michael Cooke –
Le Mistral is a tranquil oasis within a grim Sherwood area. The service was quietly professional and overall good value for money was given. While the wine list was extensive, it was also a little expensive, however our Argentinian Chenin Blanc proved a very good choice. I will certainly visit Le Mistral again and would recommend others to give it a try.
-
Sam Ranson –
A lovely meal - will come here again. Quick service - almost to quick - but we didn't feel hurried to leave.

We say…
Le Mistral restaurant in Sherwood, Nottingham, is a cosy, Parisian-style café venue that offers a relaxed dining experience and delicious, freshly prepared French cuisine. Located on Mansfield Road, it's just a couple of miles from Nottingham city centre and there are excellent transport links available.
The staff and atmosphere at Le Mistral is inviting and emits a rustic charm that you would typically expect to find whilst dining in France. The dining style is unhurried and diners are, refreshingly, encouraged to take time to really savour their meal and spend time with their family, friends or partner. With a vintage café theme running throughout the restaurant, diners will fall in love with the distressed blue wooden panels, mismatched chairs and French memorabilia that adorns the walls.
The menu is filled with classically French dishes that range from creamy brie parcels to charcuterie platters for two to share. Diners can expect to find contemporary twists on French classics such as moules marinière and confit duck leg. You will find the mains as equally mouth-watering with dishes such as beef bourguignon, fresh salmon fishcakes, and chicken supreme with wild mushrooms. There is a limited menu for vegetarians that, whilst small, is delicious. Alongside the menu you will find wine recommendations for each dish which allow you to expertly match you fine French wines perfectly to your meal. Bon Appetite!
Many of the ingredients used to create the dishes on Le Mistral’s delicious menu are sourced directly from the Rungis Market in Paris and many of the wines (58 different labels last counted) are straight from the cellars of French vineyards. There is also a selection of affordable and interesting champagnes on offer, as well as an extensive range of bottled lagers from France.
Without an air of pretension, the restaurant is a haven for anyone who wants to enjoy a fresh, simple lunch or dinner with a nice glass of wine (or two!) without being hassled by anyone. This atmosphere and approach appears to have carried across from France with great care. Le Mistral Sherwood is perfect if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre for an hour or two.
