Always great food. Worth a visit.

Great meal and service, Restaurant smart and clean.

Tasty food, friendly service and absolutely no rush from the staff for us to leave once we had finished. Lovely evening as usual and we will be back again.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable night at Kwei Lin the food and service was excellent we would return without a doubt!

We had a fantastic night, the food was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend the Kwei Lin.

First Chinese have been in where they couldn't cook you salt n pepper squid as not on menu. All very average fayre.

As reliably tasty as ever. Staff aren't pushy, helpful yes but not at all in your way. As usual we are eating very early so not many people's in but that's to be expected. Looking forward to our next visit.

We went virtually as they opened so the restaurant was empty but the food and service at Kwei Lin were both brilliant. We will be back!

When I think of going for a Chinese, I think of here. Delicious food and faultless service every time.

Overall an enjoyable experience. Will be going again as it's good value, the staff are incredibly polite and helpful and the food is tasty. Would recommend.

We say…

Located on Lower Hardwick Street, Kwei Lin is situated just a two minute walk from the popular retail district and five minutes’ walk from the Old Theatre. Kwei Lin prides itself on serving the finest authentic Chinese cuisine that Buxton and the surrounding area has to offer.

Ana Lau has been the proprietor of the restaurant for over fifteen years and thoroughly enjoys being host to the vast number of diners that visit each week. The restaurant is neutrally decorated but has several quirky twists that sets it apart from its competition. Intricately carved chairs, luxurious patterned tablecloths and wallpaper adds a decadent element to the venue. Able to seat up to ninety diners without feeling cramped and featuring round tables with a rotating centre that are perfect for larger parties who want to share dishes, Kwei Lin is easily able to cater for any occasion.

The menu features a wide selection of classic Chinese favourites such as moist, yet crispy, Aromatic Duckling served with pancakes, spring onion, cucumber and rich hoi sin sauce. The delicious lemon chicken and sizzling lamb with mushrooms and black bean sauce are also popular choices. There is a good selection of vegetarian dishes available including fried mixed fresh vegetables in a mildly spicy sauce atop a bed of clear noodles, and sizzling bean curd in black bean sauce. The addition of incredibly reasonably priced set menus that feature some of the best-loved dishes ensures that whatever your budget you can enjoy an authentic Chinese meal.

Kwei Lin is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy eating brilliantly cooked, freshly prepared Chinese food in comfortable surroundings. The restaurant is spacious and is able to accommodate even the largest party with no trouble whatsoever.
