We say…

Koinonia means "Follow ship", a Greek word taken from the Bible. This is the first restaurant in history that served South Indian Cuisine in a Greek name. The owner has a totally different vision and passion for the food business and is exploring traditional cuisines of Kerala. The restaurant is located in not too far from the Ratford area and Newark and is in close proximity to the Nottingham University Jubilee Campus.

The South Indian region of Kerala is often known as God's own country because of its beauty and relaxing ambience. Kerala has long been a culinary centre of excellence in this vast country. The Keralan people have cultivated their own herbs and spices for many years, using them to produce dishes of outstanding quality, which is what the chef's and team of Koinonia are working hard to share with the people here. The restaurant is passionate about bringing people a taste of warm hospitality and gracious nature provided in heavenly food. If you are a lover of tasty Indian cuisine full of flavours and freshness, you'll love the Koinonia experience, so start your journey to Kerala by sampling this remarkable food and wonderful hospitality.

Koinonia is a spacious restaurant that is flooded with light during the day before simmering down to become more intense and cosy in the evening. The interior of the restaurant is elegant and modern yet still maintains an authentic Keralan ambience with the minimal Keralan decor and wall art. The team is passionate and the friendly staff have worked hard to create a relaxing atmosphere and a very pleasurable dining experience, making each guest feel as though they are getting away to Kerala each time they enter the restaurant.

The chefs at Koinonia are highly professional and deliver unique flavours of hospitality that offers class refinement while remaining deeply rooted in its local heritage. The menu is extensive offering a very wide range of choice. Try the Dosa pancakes, which are made from a mixture of soaked rice and lentils ground together and fermented overnight or Koinonia Sadya Vattam Thali, a special Keralan traditional feast. Koinonia offers just as much choice for vegetarian-friendly dishes as it does for the meats which make the place perfect for vegetarians and vegans.

Koinonia sets a high standard of taste and service, offering a taste of its own, delightful contentment and memories to cherish. So what are you waiting for? Book a table and give this a try!
