We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Hurt Arms. The staff were very welcoming and provided us with the perfect table for my father's disability. We cannot praise them enough. We will definitely be returning and would recommend the Hurt Arms to everyone!

Gorgeous Boston beef at The Hurt Arms, really tasty and good value for money, service was a little slow and they didn't have any pineapple juice or lime which I thought was a bit strange for Christmas dining as lots if people not drinking alcohol.

Excellent service, good meal and a most enjoyable evening at the Hurt Arms!

We say…

The Hurt Arms can be found in the beautiful town of Ambergate, in Derbyshire, nearby the charming town of Belper. This bar, bistro and restaurant features food from all around the world, so is perfect if you’re heading back from the nearby Peak District, or just if you live nearby and want to pay a visit to a great-value restaurant for some fabulous food.

The Hurt Arms defines itself as a country pub with an opulent twist, and this is certainly evident when you enter. The bar is lit softly with warm, stylish lighting and the space is festooned with mirrors, giving it a really luxurious feel. They often feature live jazz singers and one-off events, so it’s known by the locals as the place to be for any special celebrations or events.

Once you’ve vacated the luxurious pitted sofas and sat down at the table, there’s plenty to choose from on the menu. The a la carte menu offers starters from fragrant Thai fish cakes to duck and orange pate on a toasted sourdough base, served with a mulled wine and apple chutney. Those visiting with friends can share the oven-baked nachos, loaded with soured cream, jalapenos, guacamole, salsa and plenty of melted cheese. For your main, we recommend the New York deli burger, but if you fancy something more traditional the steak and ale pie with golden hand-cut chips is a fantastic choice. Those who find themselves visiting at lunch time are treated to the popular eat for less menu, with favourites including breaded scampi and chicken teriyaki. With plenty of lighter options alongside these, it's an ideal choice for lunch or dinner. There’s even a fantastic kid’s menu, so you can bring the whole family here for an enjoyable evening.

For an elegant meal out which comes with plenty of fun food and drink, you can’t go wrong with The Hurt Arms in Ambergate, Derbyshire. After a day spent exploring the Peak District, it's a fantastic place to bring the family.
