The building itself is situated within its own beautifully landscaped gardens of rolling hills, grandiose feature fountains and perfectly tended flowers and bushes. The restaurant area is an extension of the rural, stately charm of the outside building, with grand fireplaces, traditional furnishings and a plush country atmosphere. Dine in the Sir Francis room for a taste of private luxury in its cosy, intimate surroundings, or relax within the solid-wooden clad walls of the main bar. The main dining room is a bright, spacious and absolutely stunning place, with chandeliers, characterful touches and a sense of opulence and indulgence. The menu has been created in such a way as to make the most of fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, creating exquisitely cooked traditional British dishes and meals with a Mediterranean influence. For a weekday dinner, choose from various stunning dishes such as smoked duck with a walnut and dovedale blue salad and a honey dressing or a rack of Derbyshire lamb served with Dauphinoise potatoes. The lunch menus offer lighter options for earlier in the day, including a Sunday lunch menu which includes gorgeous roast dinner options, such as roast turkey, locally reared and served with a cranberry sauce and savoury stuffing.
