Chris Banting –
Our first visit and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and the service perfect. Would be happy to recommend and look forward to our next visit.
-
Nigel Mill –
A splendid meal in splendid surroundings.
-
Siobhan Hargreaves –
Extremely disappointing. The service was awfully slow. The waiter had no idea about the menu, what the accompaniments were etc. The steak-knives wouldn't cut butter and certainly couldn't get through the piece of grizzle served up to me. Despite having the lunch-time special menu, it still cost £50 per head with two glasses of wine each. I will not be in a hurry to go back!
-
John Bence –
First 2 courses excellent. Sweet courses rather too sweet for our tastes - I would have been better having the cheese. However, good to see the Hart Tradition continuing in this area.
-
David Hughes –
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch, delicious roast beef and sticky toffee pudding.
-
Duncan Boal –
Really pleased with the whole experience, the staff, the food, the drinks. Everything was top class, thank you so much.
-
Neil Stubberfield –
The food & service was exceptional & having been before, we were recognised by the staff. A must do, for that special occasion!
-
Colin Booth –
A classy place for fine dining, that offers generous portion sizes, good quality food and service all around. Recommended to anyone wanting some special or romantic.
-
Damian Reid –
I would definitely recommend Harts to anyone looking for somewhere as a treat or for a special occasion, or if you're looking to impress someone special! With an excellent menu and very friendly attentive staff you can't help but be impressed by the standards at this restaurant. Although the prices are a little higher than what I would class as my standard or usual restaurant, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again in the future and I would look forward to it too!
-
Kathleen Bough –
Was a bit disappointed expecting more than was on offer nothing special about to the food and service and not value for money.
-
Lainey Noakes –
Important corporate meal arranged in the private dining area of Harts Restaurant and what a complete success it was. Food was splendid, service was impeccable; the whole experience worth every penny; massive thank you to the whole team.
-
Tim –
The welcome was attentive. Advice on the dishes was professional and helpful. Service was very good, keen to please and the dishes arrived at just the right time - everyone served together too. The mains were fine, though the rump steak dish was perhaps less successful than the vegetarian and the lamb. The chocolate praline dessert was one of the best I've had in years. the wine was a tad overpriced but well suited to the food we'd ordered thanks to the advice we got.
One complaint: This restaurant adds 12 per cent service without really telling you. OK, there's a small notice on the menu but the bill arrives with it included as if it were one of the things you'd ordered. We were pleased with our meal and wanted to show appreciation so, without noticing the charge, we added a cash tip. Our fault, you may say, but the way they do it is a bit close to the edge in my opinion. That said, they refunded it when I asked.
If you want to give a tip, my advice is to refuse the service charge and then give cash. Apart from anything else this will mean that the serving team stand a chance of getting a share of what you donate - the official amount is not shared round. -
Keith Murphy –
Excellent food and friendly service as always
-
Susan Fleet –
Always a pleasure to dine here as the staff are very attentive, food is delicious and choices are good . This is especially so for me as I have food intolerances, which are managed discreetly by staff.
My only complaint is that both recent visits in June have been slightly marred by a long wait for a main course? Why I'm not sure but it does rather detract from an otherwise delightful experience. -
Carol Jones –
The food was delicious. We had a round table which is perfect for 6 people. At times the service was a little confused. Eg things for other tables brought to us. Overall we had a very good time. I had booked the table so we could meet my daughters boyfriends parents so it is always a great relief in those situations when things go well. The online booking was confusing. I had a confirmation x 2 for the wrong date, had to phone the hotel to sort out & then got 2 x confirmation for the correct date. Could be better.
-
Michelle Mee –
Lovely meal staff very attentive towards us thank you x
-
Roger Brooks –
As always superb food, impeccable service & an excellent ambience. Not cheap but then as my mum used to say, you get what you pay and at Harts you get the best. Highly recommended.
-
David Hart –
Served poor champagne which appeared to have been opened too long. Long time waiting to fix. Rest was excellent as always but disappointing start spoiled our lunch out.
-
Anne Thompson –
Excellent meal and service.
-
Anne Thompson –
Excellent lunch.
-
Dr Rees –
My favourite Nottingham restaurant: excellent food, a well- chosen wine list, good value and excellent service.
-
H Nicholson –
Although food was very good and well presented, the value was very poor. We made a mistake of having a drink before going to the table, not realising how expensive they would be. For a guinness and a cider and town soft drinks it was £20.40 and the 12.5 percent service charge for this made it really expensive. The portion was so small and no garnish or veggies on the side so although we enjoyed what we ate, we felt it was very expensive and probably wouldn't be prepared to go back.
-
Steve Varley –
Food exceptional. Service was divine.
Wouldn't take a tip as service is included but above and beyond was the staffs attitude. -
David Richard Fish –
All 3 courses were delicious and staff created a nice relaxing ambiance. A great celebration meal.
-
Theresa Libecans –

-

An excellent lunch enjoyed by everyone that exceeded expectations, which was super as this was such a special occasion.
-
Stephen McCue –
Just a superlative experience. The way you are treated at Hart's is outstanding, nothing is too much trouble and you really feel like you are the only guest there.
We sampled the lunch menu.
Starter – Lobster terrine, simple fresh ingredients exquisitely presented, chill level spot on and totally delicious.
Main – Sirloin steak with horseradish foam – medium. You know what, perfect. I can’t describe how good this course was. Cooked to perfection, perfect taste combinations, perfect presentation (am I saying perfect a lot? Well that just about sums it up) I have dined at 4 star restaurants and ordered similar and some have not even come close.
Desert – Caramelised Rhubarb Compote, every ingredient on that plate was thought out carefully, and there were several little ‘islands’ of flavour combinations – some surprising, but everything complimented each other in perfect synergy.
When the bill arrived, I felt like I should have paid more!
Hart’s, you didn’t just do well you smashed this one out of the stadium! Well done.
Happy customer. -
Dwight Hickinbotham –
For that kind of money I don't expect to pour my own wine on 2 occasions. Polite service. Food was lovely.
-
Doug Mirtle –
Have eaten at Harts on several occasions and always enjoyed the relaxed feeling and the food. Only negative comment on recent lunch was the salted caramel on the sticky toffee desert was far too salty which was not compatable with the sweet cake and vanilla ice cream.
-
Clyde Scothern –
Lovely evening had at Heart's for my girlfriend'a birthday.
-
Jane Trueman Of Freeths Llp Nottingham –
As always excellent service at Hart's, quality of food and ambiance. Would not hesitate to re-book again. Thank you!
-

This restaurant has been my all time favourite for many years now, and they never fail to please me.
If you are a foodie or someone looking for great service and great food, look no further -
Elaine Mitchell –
A warm welcome on arrival for afternoon tea. Variety of teas very good and you could choose to sample a few. Food was a little disappointing from what I come to expect from Harts. The balance of sweet and savoury was not right - cakes quite heavy and sandwiches dry. Expected dainty and tasty bites. Nothing that special.
-
Michael Nickeas –
The soup arrived cold but was quickly corrected. The wine was a little expensive. However, we would go back to Hart's.
-
Jaz Dhesi –
Fantastic meal at Hart's. Made my Anniversary experience worthwhile with every request met. Food was excellent and definitely will go again. Thank you Harts and Go Dine..

Delicious soft shell crab, sirloin beef and soufflé. Very professional but relaxed surroundings at Hart's. Some new faces amongst the service team, but still well taken care of. Excellent option to order fine wines by the glass!
-
Clive Edwards –
My girlfriend and I went for an afternoon 3 course lunch at Hart's and loved the whole experience of it all... The staff was the best I've had. They made my Mrs feel very special. The food was delicious. We've decided to go there once a month from now on! 5 stars.
-
Michelle Watson –
Food was nice, but underwhelming for the price, average would be a better description. Felt rushed, the courses all came out very quickly... Perhaps because it was valentines weekend with a high turn over? We had a couple sat either side of us which were uncomfortably close to our table. The staff were great, however we felt the overall price and the discretionary service charge was unjustified.
-
Steve Tilley –
Good meal, pleasant service. Asked for a good table when making the reservation, which I felt we didn't get. All round, good experience.
-
Helen Jacques –
Lovely place to just chill and eat wonderful food. Made to feel very special from the moment arrived to the moment left.

-
Angela Blood –
Absolutely fantastic at Hart's in Nottinghham but then it always is. About 2 years since I last visited and noticed you can view the kitchen from the table where we sat which provided entertainment for us. The Head Chef was most entertaining and friendly. Wonderful food.
-
Peter Bailey –
Another lovely evening and meal at Harts Restaurant. My steak was slightly over cooked for Medium Rare but otherwise the food was it's usual excellent standard. Would recommend!
-

Superb Gourmet Corner dish of scallop and pork belly, delicious lamb rump, and exciting take on a tiramisu - fantastic meal, as ever at Hart's.

-
Ruth Brasier –
Our first experience at Harts the food was excellent, the service was very good, the room felt welcoming even though we were the only people in at the time for the pre-theatre menu the value and quality of the food was very tasty, we will be back, and it was very busy when we left.
-
David Hughes –
Wonderfully inviting and helpful service, as ever; stunning food from the 'gourmet corner' - crab, mango and crispy squid salad, then venison.
-

We booked Harts for a large group of our members for the set lunch menu. Service was impeccable - and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Food was tasty and beautifully presented. "Would definitely go again" said one member.
-

Went off the set menu for once, which was delicious and very good value; fantastic service as usual, especially from front-of-house Josh.
-
Peter Bailey –
As always, pure excellence! Restaurant was a little quiet but it was a Monday evening and it didn't spoil our evening. Costs that little bit more, but well worth it! Been many times now, still waiting for a bad experience!!
-
David Hughes –
New menu, had a stunning pigeon with bubble and squeak starter, sirloin steak with lots of goodies main, and a deconstructed cheesecake that made me roll my eyes when it arrived but tasted fantastic; very welcoming and efficient staff as ever.
-
David Hughes –
Harts salad, roast duck with prunes and quinoa, and lime Baked Alaska all delicious, with very attentive service and comfy surroundings as ever!
-
David Hughes –
A truly wonderful evening, very well looked after by the staff as ever, and with some stunning food (chanterelle fricassee, wonderfully summery lamb rump dish, and the best baked Alaska I have ever had).
-
Vanessa Brooks –
Always enjoy Harts. Great as usual!
-
James Wright –
Excellent food as always. The best starter and dessert we've ever had, and the mains were out of this world as well. Attentive service again as always. If he had to find something which wasn't 10/10 - and my word I'm being harsh - the espresso was very bitter, think the machine needs a clean!
-
David Hughes –
Excellent service as ever, pre-empts all requirements; some delicious food in all courses, especially a stunning coronation chicken terrine and gariguette strawberry dessert; lovely atmosphere in a comfy environment.
-
David Hughes –
Delicious meal at Hart's as ever.
-
Gareth Williams –
An amazing evening at Hart's restaurant to celebrate our first anniversary! The food was excellent, as we expected from a previous visit. The highlight being the roast pheasant dish for me, which was superb. They also had the nice touch of writing Happy Anniversary in chocolate sauce on my girlfriends dessert plate.
-
Kyle Richards –
I took my lovely lady to Hart's restaurant as she's never been and we weren't disappointed. Lovely food - great flavours and combinations, great attentive service, a lovely bottle of wine (great wine list) and a lovely evening overall. Definitely recommend if you are willing to push the boat out a little.

I had a great time at Harts - never been before and really enjoyed the food. I will be taking my wife back there again!
-
Steve Clayton –
Had been looking for a reason to book a table here for a long time, but it wasn't really worth the wait. The food was mostly OK however there were some odd combinations in some dishes that really didn't work well. This wouldn't have been so bad if the food was less expensive but Harts is not a cheap place to eat! Despite the number of staff most seemed to be wearing blinkers, requiring a concerted effort to garner their attention. At the end of the meal we were brought another tables' bill which took a while to resolve. The place was lively enough and pretty full which was a shame as there only appeared to be one toilet... In short, if you want a better experience fore the same cost I'd recommend Merchants, World Service or even Tonic.
-
Stephen Dowling –
I felt the staff were very pushy with the wine - from the minute we sat down they were asking us what we wanted, throughout the meal they kept topping up our glasses, even if they were not empty and when out bottle ran out the were trying to sell us more - maybe they are on commission but I found it irritating. Also i didn't appreciate the 12% discretionery service charge being added to the bill - I normally tip 10% in cash as I like to be sure that the staff are getting my tip. 12% was slightly more and paid straight to the organisation (extra profit for the owners?) But i did not wish to make an issue of this at the end of an otherwise pleasant evening.

The evening was a real mixed bag. The food was delicious; really interesting blend of tastes and textures. The service was not what I expect from Harts - the wine offered was not the wine we chose, the main meal arrived while we were eating our starters and the waiters over eager to top up our wine glasses.
-
Debbie Doran –
Excellent relaxing night out, food sumptious. We would certainly recommend another visit to Harts.
-
Eva Astreinidou –
I have been to Hart's twice before, and have never been disappointed. The service is always top notch, the restaurant is clean, contemporary, and very well looked after. I think the only aspect I was disappointed with was the fact that to fully enjoy Hart's it seems that you have to opt for the a la carte menu. The variety on that menu is great, and pre-theatre may have limited our experience of the restaurant and its food. Nonetheless, my pan fried fillet of whiting was great, and had a lovely and subtle caper and butter sauce which really complemented it well. My cheese board needed more neutral cheeses, but I understand that the point of the pre-theatre menu is to provide a quick meal before a big event on the night, and the point of a cheese board is to showcase local distinctive cheeses. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone, but I would say that the best thing would be to go for a la carte!
-
Adam Przeslak –
A great meal with swift & attentive service!
-
Isabel Turner –

-

Excellent meal - we sat at a nice table and the service was excellent as usual.
-
Darren Prowting –
The food was superb and the staff ensured we were catered to quickly to enable us to mske our theatre reservation which had been requested. The evening was only dampened by an over exuberent group of students and where not asked by staff to be aware of other customers. Overall recommendedation.

Bryan Marriott –
Food and ambience were very good but we felt that the service was a little slow.
-
Davina Besson –
The service at this place could not be faulted. The food was good but the accompaniments described on the menu were different from what actually came out - spinach for beetroot puree - which I was a little disappointed about.
-
MR –
Incredible food and very attentive service. The restaurant has apparently won a lot of awards and on our experience I can see why.
-
Lleah O'sullivan –
We went to the restaurant for the deal of 3 courses for £25 but didnt realise this only appplied to a set menu because it wasnt made clear to us before going. Even though, we couldn't complain at the pre-set menu because the food on it was beautiful. For the main i had lamb which melted in my mouth and the starter and dessert were just as beautiful. The only problem is we did wait 20 minutes between our starter and main meal but it was definately worth the wait. The food was sublime and i would readily go again to try any other dish on the menu.
-
Jeanette Bird –
Excellent, attentive service which was really appreciated as we were 'fussy eaters'. They adapted things for our dietary requirements, with no hassle.
The food was yummy and so was the wine! Will definitely go again.
