Food was very good and well presented. Great pub, and lovely location. We had to point out that they had under charged us but otherwise perfect.

Really relaxing place to unwind and enjoy meal.
    Excellent service and people!

I took my mum here for Mother's Day, it was a set menu only which I wasn't particularly pleased about but hey ho, overall the meal was nice, but if I was to be critical, the buff could have been slices into 2 or 3 thin slices, rather than a slab, then the rareness of the meat wouldn't have been as bad for some, some veg and gravey was piled into the Yorkshire pud, which turned it soggy, beans and broccoli had barely been blanched, the starters and mains were very nice, we were placed in the bar, even though we booked a few weeks in advance, it was still quite nice, the service was good no hanging around waiting for you plates to be cleared, and if you needed anything more it wasn't an issue. Overall a nice experience in a fantastic setting if you wanted to walk your food off afterwards.

Beautiful surroundings at The Finch's Arms and pleasant ambiance, it was a Sunday lunch for my daughters birthday and the menu was comprehensive with plenty of choice. Food was beautifully presented but for me the lamb was a little rare and not warm enough. Overall though a smashing meal and I would return.

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours in a perfect location. Customer service was good and I loved the scones in particular.
    Needs more parking spaces though.

I had heard good things about The Finch's Arms restaurant and I wanted to take my fiance away for a few days so we chose here. The food was affordable and presented beautifully. Would definitely go back.

Lovely relaxed meal with beautiful views of Rutland Water :)

The Finch's Arms is ideal for a family meal. Both my parents and two fussy children were very happy with their dinners. The staff were discreet but efficient throughout and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful. A great Oakham venue for all ages.

Always a pleasure to have a meal at the Finch's!

We had a lovely meal at the Finch's Arms. The set menu was good value and the food was lovely although portions were a bit on the small side and it would have been nice to have some seasonal vegetables as part of the meal, rather than an extra.

Great welcome, lovely environment with fantastic view but felt it was over priced and not good value for money. Very small portions with no extras included in what was already quite expensive!

We had a wonderful meal on 15 December to celebrate my partner's 60th birthday. The bar has an excellent ambience and the whole is in a beautiful setting which I am sure would be great to see in daylight. Food was cooked and presented to a high standard. We had the beef and lamb fillets for main courses - both were cooked just right and came with mouthwatering accompaniments. Staff were fine and pretty unobtrusive (but no-one seemed aware of the food intolerance mentioned when the booking was placed). Just a few gripes - the restaurant having no absorbing surfaces meant that it was quite noisy, especially as we were placed right next to the noisiest table even though only 3 others were occupied; the English and French cheese selection at £7 was quite small wedges of Cheddar, Brie and Stilton with some stewed fruit; but then nobody does cheese like the French. And there was nothing sweet to accompany the coffee. In spite of this, a good experience and one that I'd like to repeat.

The terrace at the back of Finch’s is enough to make me return on its own, the view overlooking Rutland water is fantastic on a summer’s day. The service lives up to the view as well, offering help and keeping us looked after. The food is also of a high standard, I had grilled chicken which was highly enjoyable. Only small problem is the noise level, I suppose that is what you can expect from such a highly regarded place as Finch’s. A must do for anyone.
