We say…

In The Strand you may have noticed a new addition to the wealth of independent retailers, restaurants and cafes that line the street. Housed within the building that was once home to Porters Pantry Café, Finale Tapas is an authentic Thai restaurant serving delicious Thai street food and tapas whilst doubling as a coffeehouse during the day.

Managing Director, Amporn, fell in love with the building whilst studying at Derby University and when she saw that the space was available she jumped at the chance to make her dream come true and open her own restaurant. That dream is now reality as she shares her passion for authentic Thai street food with the residents of Derby.

Accessible from the street, the restaurant itself is cosy with a warm atmosphere that makes it an absolute delight to dine in any time of the day. The entire venue is decorated using luxurious printed wallpaper with raspberry highlights in the form of pretty tea lights on the tables and bold chandeliers that are suspended from the ceiling. These intimate surroundings not only makes Finale Tapas the perfect venue for a romantic dinner for two in the evening but also make it more than suitable for celebrating special occasions such as birthday’s and hen do’s with close friends and family as well as casual lunches and informal dinners.

During the day a light lunch menu is available offering everything from an express set menu to Thai tapas and a couple of British classics thrown in for good measure. Lunch times at Finale are designed to help you relax and refocus in the middle of a busy day. In the evening an extensive a la carte provides diners with dishes designed to be savoured such as the Massaman curry, the duck breast in red wine and the Yang Nam Tok. The restaurant is also very accommodating of different dietary requirements and with a great vegetarian and vegan menu on offer as well as a great selection of fat-free and gluten-free dishes, everyone should find themselves well catered for at Finale.

So if you are looking for an authentic taste of Thailand in comfortable, friendly and welcoming surroundings, we highly recommend a trip to Finale Tapas Thai restaurant in Derby. The tapas menu is ideal for those trying Thai cuisine for the first time whilst the a la carte allows veterans to enjoy hearty portions of their favourite dishes. Trust us, when you’ve been once you’ll be planning your next visit before you’ve even made it out of the door!
